Chapter 40 - Tell me something

Patrick stood up and went over to his bar in his office to get Chris his favorite Non-alcoholic cold wine, he brought the wine together with a glass cup and handed it over to Chris, while he also went back and got a drink for himself and sat down back on his seat opposite Chris, he discussed with Chris opening his drink.

"So how have you been, Did you travel?", Patrick asked Chris as he poured out some of his drink from the bottle into his glass cup, while he watch Chris opening the wine he just gave to him.

"Am fine, doing great as you can see" Chris answered while he poured out from the wine Patrick had given him, into his glass cup and took some sip.

"I hadn't heard from you in a while, Did you you travel?", Patrick asked him while he took another drink from his cup,

"Yeah, I did travel though, for my sister's wedding",

"Your sister .. and you didn't invite me?", Patrick asked looking disappointedly at Chris,

"Sorry man .. I did wanted to invited but I taught you will be busy with works to now attend",

"Busy ?" Patrick asked looking dissatisfied at Chris, he had also been friends with Chris Sister too since their childhood days and it pained him he missed her wedding.

Looking disappointedly at Chris he Shaked his head,

"Honestly the last time I came here visiting you, I came with intention of inviting you to my sister's wedding I didn't know how I forgot to invite you, because that's was the major reason why I came", Chris tried to explain to Patrick he truly forgot, whereas he was happy inwardly, that he didn't invite Patrick, because of Tina to avoid complicating matters for himself.

"It okay, since when did the wedding occured", Patrick asked
"Like the past One month now", Chris answered.

"Hmph, Okay just give my your sister's phone number the one I have am not sure it connecting, I will call her when am less busy and apologize to her, and send my own gift to her, You know she's also like a sister and friend to me", Patrick said calmly,

"Sure that won't be a problem", Chris said a he write out his sister's contact and passed it to Patrick, while Patrick collected it and put it safely in his drawer.

"So what's up with you?", Chris asked looking at Patrick

"Am fine, what else?", Patrick said faintly still sad he missed Chris only sister wedding.

"Are you still upset with me, I told you I honestly forgot",
"It okay, it already passed I will call her when am free am not angry with you, just a little tired from today's stress" Patrick said.

"So how's Anita, hope you both are still good, I mean together?", Chris asked looking intently at Patrick.

Chris was curious to know if Patrick as decided to focus on Anita, he was aware before that Patrick didn't know about his Child with Tina as a result of that night, so he asked Patrick about his affairs with Anita, since Patrick had already gistted him about his relationship, Chris felt comfortable asking him to know if Patrick still want Tina.

Patrick was quiet, He didn't want to discuss about Anita but he knew he already told Chris about Anita situationship with him before, Chris asked him again,
"Guy, hope all is well?".

"Yeah, am fine, all is well, Anita is fine"

"You told me you wanted to break up with Anita, did you still break up with her?", Chris asked him

"Hmph.. Yeah, I didn't really break up with her, I only just told her about the new development", Patrick said while he took a sip from his glass cup to calm his nerve

"What new development are you talking about?", Chris asked looking seriously at Patrick.

Patrick just smiled faintly at him and looked away, swinging his chair sideways, he said,

"I told Anita about Tina, I did travel home to see my family of recently, and I saw Tina, She as really grown beautiful, more beautiful than before", Patrick said while a smile curved on his previous sad face, but Chris was boiling on the inside hearing Patrick words.

Chris kept a calm look on his face, looking at Patrick explaining Tina to him. Patrick continued smiling,
"I never knew Tina had a child as a result of that night, I was so stunned to see the cute little boy, Most people around her mom's shade said he looked like me, honestly I was embarrassed and couldn't face her mother", Patrick was telling Chris whom was trying to control his anger.

Chris couldn't believe Tina met with Patrick of recently and she never told him, she met Patrick, not to mention Patrick already now knows about his Child with Tina, Chris was gradually visibly becoming angry thinking about the fact that Tina had secretly seen Patrick behind his back, even though he was still around at that period Patrick claimed he had travelled.

Noticing Chris mood Patrick gradually stopped talking and asked Chris,
"Are you alright?".

Looking at Patrick, Chris mange to smile as he recollect himself and said,
"Yeah, am fine just trying to process what you were saying .. So what happened between you and Anita, did you tell her all these?" , Chris asked still looking intently at Patrick.

"Yeah, I told Anita, but she became angry at me, and walked out on me, claiming I never for once agreed to make love to her without protection yet I did it with another and even went as far as getting her pregnant", Patrick said faintly as he recap how Anita broke down in tears before him, before she left.

"So what did you plan on doing now, do you still want to continue with Anita or go back to Tina?", Chris asked Patrick looking sadly at him,

"I don't know yet, I still love Anita too, I feel sorry for her, and hope we can talk things out amicably",

"What are you trying to talk out amicably when you said Tina doesn't love you" Chris probe.

Patrick was quiet and look at Chris, for some minute he thought silently what he could do looking confused, Chris asked him again,

"So what do you plan to do now, why not settle with Anita, you both have come a long way to now breakup or don't you think she will be emotionally devastated at this moment?",

"But what about my child with Tina, I know Tina does not really love me, but I still love her and want her .." Patrick said sadly,

"But Tina doesn't want you, you said it so yourself before, I will advise you to settle back with Anita, while you can adopt back your son to come live with you both if you still want your child",

Patrick was shocked at what Chris just said, he didn't suspect Chris interior motive, but he felt sad with the advise Chris was giving him, which sound like it was the only best option for him to consider.

Patrick Shaked his head staring blankly at Chris, he said,
"Thanks for the advice I see to it".

While Chris stood up to give him a hand shake before taking his leave, he said,."Please do Patrick, it's not nice breaking a girl's heart over someone whom doesn't really love you, just think about it, and don't dump Anita",
Then he smiled at Patrick and bide to take his leave, then he left Patrick's office.
