Disappearances happen in science, disease can suddenly fade away. Tumors go missing. We open someone up to discover the cancer is gone. It's unexplained, it's rare, but it happens. We call it misdiagnosis say we never saw it, any explanation but the truth

Meredith sat in the bath, staring intently at the clear water, she decided to get an early start on the day, a moment to herself, even though Blake was there with the necessary support, she needed a moment.

Her mother was scheduled for surgery today, her moment of lucidity was gone and the woman that came back was the cold hearted surgeon, not the woman she came to enjoy in those last few moments.. not the woman that told her she could have every single thing she wished and hoped for.

So yes Blake would be there to comfort her but for now she just needed a moment to herself.

She closed her eyes and slipped underneath the water, hoping that being underwater would block out all her thoughts and for a moment she could just get a moment of silence in her busy mind.

That life is full of vanishing acts. If something that we didn't know we had disappears, do we miss it?

When she opened her eyes and came face to face with an amused Blake, sitting on the edge of the bathtub watching her with a small smile.

She smiled back and lifted herself from the water and took the towel Blake held out.

"You needed a moment of silence?" Asked Blake.

Meredith took the towel and wrapped it around her "Yeah.. and everything is silent under water.." she said softly

Blake nodded "Yeah.. I prefer blasting Ed sheeran in my ears until the only thing I can think about it the lyrics playing in my ears.." she paused and kissed Meredith's forehead "There's nothing wrong with needing silence.. in fact I'm about done talking right now." She smiled and zipped her mouth playfully

Meredith chuckled and walked out to the bathroom "You're a dork.."

•••••••••••

Meredith rested her head against the window, watching the houses and trees zip by. Everything moved so fast, she looked to the woman beside her. For the first time in what like felt like forever she was happy, content and inlove . She had her knight in shining whatever — though she was sure Blake preferred being called batgirl.

"Staring is weird Grey."

Meredith laughed softly and turned her eyes back to the view outside "Do you ever feel like you're going through life at warp speed and you just need someone to pull up the handbrakes or whatever and just enjoy the view ?"

Blake licked her lips "Most of my life I've gone through at warp speed.. the only time it stopped was the moment I saw you in spain. And I'm not trying to be romantic or whatever. But it literally felt like my world stopped.. and I just stared.. like strange weirdo stalker stared." She stopped at a stop street "You're my view... I was going at warp speed but since I met you, I've been wanting to cruise down the boulevard and enjoy the scenery."

Meredith blushed "Yeah.. that was you not trying to be romantic at all , real smooth baby." She giggled "And you're my view too.." she replied "Also this doesn't mean we'll be getting that gaming room or bat cave you've been talking to about to Alex."

Blake pouted "but .. it's a really cool room mer."

Meredith rolled her eyes "so we have triage training today.." she said changing the subject.
