Germs, disease, toxins ... our bodies encounter dangers all the time, just beneath the surface ... hidden. Whether you realize it or not, your body is constantly protecting itself
Blake sent off her latest application. She noticed Meredith eyes on her "Should I start sending my own too?" She asked softly.
Blake shrugged "If you want."
Meredith sighed "The chief is wanting to offer you chief resident, Bailey is pestering me, and says I need to change your mind. Mind you Bailey is not nice when she wears that face.. so I'm scared for my life , will you reconsider..?"
Blake rolled her eyes "we have to go, Alex says he has something pretty exciting to share."
Meredith sighed softly "Right," she grabbed her jacket and followed her wife down the stairs "Where have you applied ?"
Blake opened the car door for Meredith "LA, New York, Baltimore.. then there's the fact that I could easily get a spot in Boston by using one of my last names." She said as they drove to the hospital.
Meredith stared out the window "Boston is nice, LA is too warm.. and I suppose New York would be fine too."
Blake hummed "Yeah.. the problem is that beside Columbia everyone else's Neuro department is subpar."
Meredith bit her lip "How is Columbia's general department??"
Blake blinked "Uh .. it's good, I hear."
Meredith unbuckled her seat belt "If you choose one of these hospitals are we selling the house?"
Blake scratched her head "I don't know.." she shrugged "It's a great house and I love it. Besides we looked really long for it."
Meredith hummed "Another reason to stay in Seattle. Other than having a good teacher, the program is competitive.."
Blake glanced at Meredith "You're trying to passively get me to change my mind aren't you?"
Meredith smiled innocently "No I'm supporting you by letting you know that if we move to LA or Baltimore, or New York. We'd be leaving all our friends, our family. We'd have to sell the house which could take a long time, then we'd have to find a new house, in the city which is going to be hard.."
Blake groaned "Yeah you're passively trying to tell me 'Blake don't be stupid stay in Seattle.'" She said not noticing Bailey was also in the lift but that changed when she felt a swat to her head
"Yeah that's a good idea, I told you before and I'll say it again, this hospital is your home." Chided Bailey "If you move your godson will disown you."
Blake grimaced "Ah you see I already told the chief I'll be —""
Every time you blink your eye, you wash away thousands of unwanted microbes. Breathe in too much unwanted pollen and you sneeze
"He didn't accept it, in fact he gave it to me and I shredded it." Said Bailey with a smile
Meredith chuckled "Uh.. driving a car in the city will be tough too."
Blake scowled "Let's go, Alex must've started already." She said ignoring Meredith's smile, when they reached the conference room, she took a seat in the back of the crowd, . The kid was adorable as Alex started presenting, he was really made for peds..
"This is Zola. She's 6 months old, born with spina bifida ... Adorable African children, shameless ego stroking"
Blake tilted her head "she's adorable."
"Karev is genius.." said April
"Yeah, he's single-handedly stealing chief resident out from under all of us, and we're helping him do it. I mean, we can't exactly refuse to treat little sick kids without making ourselves look bad." Jackson said
