Arizona stared at the results of the CT scan. Her gaze moved to Blake who watched the scans intently, her thumb in her mouth between her teeth and brows furrowed.
"McCharming." She murmured
Blake blinked and turned to the Peds attending "What?" She asked confused
Arizona waved her hands "No, no, I'm saying everyone calls you Mccharming I thought I got it before but now I do. You're charming , you smile , you care and you put up five thousand dollars for a kid you don't know to get a MRI scan.."
Blake turned back to the CT scan "That's a silly name Meredith came up with. And I just wanted my third year to start off right and what better way to start it off with saving a kid from a life time of excruciating pain and possibly being hooked on drugs." She pointed out on the scan with a small relieved smile curling up her lips "and Andy has a tethered spinal cord, one of the threads are connected to the tail-bone.." she breathed out and rubbed her face "a relatively easy procedure to rectify." She turned back to Arizona with a bright smile.
"Good start isn't it?"
Arizona snorted in amusement "Sure it is Mccharming."

Andy's room
Blake along with Derek and Arizona was in the room . Derek surprisingly handed the chart over to her "Dr.Carmichael-Grey has found the problem.." he said nodding to her
Blake turned to Pam "Your son has a tethered spinal cord." At the woman's mortified expression she quickly explained "It sounds terrifying I know but what all it means is that one of the threads is attached to his tail-bone. Normally, the spinal cord is free at the end, but with it being attached, when you grew, it started pulling. Thus the excruciating pain."
Pam clasped her sons hands with tears in her eyes "Can.. can we fix it?" She asked shakily tears glistening in her eyes.
Blake nodded with a small smile "A microsurgery, Dr.Shepard will go in and perform the procedure, he'll snip the cord and Andy will no longer be in pain nor will he have to use pain meds—" she wasn't even done when the woman leapt at her and hugged her tightly.
Andy groaned in embarrassment while Blake patted the woman's back soothingly and gently extricated herself from the hug.
"Sorry she's normally not like this" he defended with an embarrassed smile.
"Andy will be fine. He'll be able to sleep and you get the joy of watching him grow into a fine man .." she comforted rubbing the woman's back, and shot a small smile to Andy.
"Thank you, thank you.. so much.. you paid for the tests and didn't stop.. so thank you... you did more than any doctor has or needed to do.." said Pam through her tears.
Blake smiled softly and glanced at Andy "personally I think I just can't see such a great kid in pain." She winked at Andy "If you'll excuse us." She said to Pam.
When they exited the room. Blake sighed "So rumor has it you and Meredith are trying for a baby." Blake's eyes widened and turned to Arizona who stared at her.
Blake blinked "How do you know that?"
Arizona shrugged "Apparently you yelled it loudly in an on call room and the nurses talk."
Blake snorted rubbing her face half embarrassed "God.. I did didn't I?"
Arizona hummed amusedly "For what it's worth, if you ever want a change I think Peds will be good for you too."
