Bad blood

Blake sighed as left her last interview. It was annoying and she felt like a show horse, smile, hold the smile and have pictures taken. It was tiring she had to do it enough with her fathers business functions now here too.

When she walked into the hospital, her heels clacked onto the linoleum flooring, her outfit gaining some attention, she took of her jacket and held it in her hands. She was apparently late for their sort of new orientation, when she saw the group of attending's following Alana Cahill she slipped in , unfortunately her outfit wasn't quite blendable , especially surrounded by doctors in lab coats and coats.

"Glad to have you join us Dr.Carmichael I believe the interview went as planned?" Alana asked.

Blake threaded her fingers through her hair "my cheeks hurt." She said dryly "I wasn't aware that there'd be Channel seven and eight present." She said unhappily.

Alana hummed "All for the hospital and we thank you for doing your part."

Blake grunted "What have I missed?"

Bailey spoke up "There are doctors in the ceiling"

"Our OR's are messy." Richard added

Blake blinked "oh okay." She glanced at her wife as Alana kept speaking "And how's my peanut?"

Meredith rolled her eyes "Hmph." Meredith huffed turning her eyes away from Blake "Not satisfied."

The people around them glanced at them "Yes, we need to right that immediately."

We've all heard the buzz words... Streamline, optimize," integrate, adapt." Every day someone comes up with a new strategy or tool or technology to increase our efficiency. The idea is to make our lives easier. But the question is, does it?

"Your average time between surgeries is 37 minutes. With these new O.R. procedures, I'd like to see that cut in half. Thank you, everyone."

Blake grimaced and turned away. She started walking beside a frustrated Meredith.

"Closing the E.R. should cut down on time. We won't have any patients." Cristina said dryly

"How's hunt feeling about that?" Alex asked

Cristina shrugged "Oh, he says he's not gonna do anything about it until it actually happens."

Alex snorted "oh it's happening, just like Blake is being made into a PR poppet." He chuckled "how does it feel Mm? Feeling like a celebrity?"

Blake rolled her shoulders "I will smack you." She said dryly " what it is, is annoying.I have one more appearance later this evening." She sighed "Ugh, I may just donate all the money the hospital lost to end this."

Cristina perked up "Do it,"

Blake scoffed "No," she said with laugh "You're just trying to keep Owen a trauma surgeon which he won't or can't be if they close down the ER."

Meredith huffed "Derek has a plan."

Blake raised a brow "oh Derek has a plan?"

Meredith furrowed her brow "Why'd you say it like that?"

Blake shrugged "I didn't say it anyway, I'm saying whatever plan he has needs to maximize the profit margin by 30 % if he wants to save the ER. The man isn't exactly known for his business skills."
