In stories, people seemed happy except for the main characters. Thought they all have issues to deal with individually, it was done where the main characters are out of bounds. Sometimes it matters, sometimes it doesn't. It's because the readers don't really care unless the chapter is about the couple they cheer on or support.

They are side characters for a reason. They are normal, their story isn't enough to make the cut. They don't really affect the main character's thought process. They exist to support the main characters, that's it. So why should they matter? Let them live their lives undocumented because they aren't interesting enough.

Which is why Asahi wanted to be a mob character. He wanted to live without restrictions, without anything controlling his life.
