AbC rant and a fluff story (Weichen x anyone coz jin definitely does not)

SPoILER ALERT: don't read unless you've watched American born Chinese, this contains ALOT of spoilers

# the rant:

They did not do Wei-chen dirty like that. fluffy with a mix of angst. Why is Amelia canon? IDK too, the whole thing is awkward and sadly, poorly written. Jin feels.. poorly written, his plot aint it, it didn't give the proper build up because he's a bad person throughout. POOR WEI-CHEN FR. Anuj is one of the greatest person there, i ship him sm with Suzy they belong together, it's canon. The one weird thing i have is AHEM Amelia, why does she exists? to stir inner turmoil in our mc right? But Wei-chen does that way better and it gives more impact, coz yk Jin did him wrong and he still cares about him despite labeling him as 'not a friend'. Wei-chen is such a well written character, his arc, HIS STORY IS just perfect???? the build up and what he could have done. Ngl, he should have been the one who pushed Jin to believe in himself, but who cares about his development? not even the writers had time to freaking polish Jin even though he's literally the MC

enough of that, I shall give Wei-chen his deserving prize: the fourth scroll. COZ NGL. HE DID NOT GO THROUGH ALL OF THAT just to bring everything back to normal. LikE???? Let him gain smthg DISNEY. GIVE HIM AT LEAST A FRIEND HELP, WHY DID U NOT MAKE JIN MISS WEI CHEN?!?!? HE DID NOT DESERVE ALL OF THOSE FR.

WEI CHEN/one sided, COZ JIN IS CONFUSED AND MAD annoying (the character ok)

# the story:

. Starts at the last ep, where Jin confronts Wei-chen.

"Will I ever see you again?" Wei-chen felt tongue-tied. To hear Jin's voice wretched in sadness, to know his eyes are telling him to stay. Wei-chen couldn't bear seeing Jin like this. He knows he should go, he does. He also knows he doesn't want to go and that what hurts him the most.

A lengthy breathless chuckle filled with sorrow, that's Wei-chen's reply "I.." No, that's the right answer, but to tell it infront of Jin's face? Can Wei-chen endure seeing him sadden by the fact he might never see him ever again? "..don't know" The tone was unsure and reluctant.

They both stared at each other wordlessly.

Jin looked down, breaking eye contact. That's when Wei-chen realized, it's not like Jin would care. He'll probably take this as a lesson-learned, just some crazy story when he grows old. He wasn't as significant to Jin.

Well, not like how he treasures Anuj nor Amelia, that is.

"Alright dude, you know how to contact me" Tapping his phone playfully with a small forced smile.

"Yes, Yes" Jin was never good at lying, behind his words, he knew Wei-chen would probably desert him after this. But to stop Wei-chen? Of course Jin wouldn't, who was he to Jin anyways? He was just a nuisance to him all throughout. Jin carried everything, all he did was stall Bull demon and that's it. Jin would be fine without him "I should probably go"

"Oh, right! Yeah, sure, I'll see around?" Jin fumbled in his words.

Wei-chen got lost in his own thoughts while looking at Jin. He doesn't know what is he expecting, but although he needs to go, why is he hesitant about it?

"Bye Jin"

He didn't say anything anymore. He didn't want to keep empty words. Rather than giving him a white lie, it's better to be upfront about it.

"Do.. you really have to go?" Jin's voice cracked inbetween his sentence, Wei-chen simply pursed his lips and curve his lips a little bit.

"Yeah, my dad.." What to say? "Wants to lecture me! Yeah, because I kinda messed up alot..." Feeling the dread from the dead air, Wei-chen followed up "And you know, Chinese parents! am I right?" letting out a seemingly fake laugh to match the joke.

Jin didn't laugh though.

Wei-chen's smile turned into a thin line "Sorry, I, I-" what does he want to say? That he wants to stay? No, that's stupid "I'll go for real now"

Before Wei-chen could turn away, Jin's hands caught his shoulders. Before he knew it, they were hugging.

Well, sort of?

Jin just buried his face on Wei-chen's shoulder.

It's a good thing Jin couldn't see his face.

Wei-chen reluctantly patted Jin's back and gave him several taps.

"Bro, why are even gonna leave? It doesn't make sense" He's right, it doesn't. But he can't leave heaven alone. He went down here to save it for hell's sake. His whole purpose surrounded around heaven and its safety.

"I want to help my dad, because believe it or not, I really..." What's the right word? "adore him"

"Ah, that's a bummer" Jin murmured

Wei-chen found his comment a bit funny "No, it's not"

"It kinda is, who admires their dad in 21st century?" Wei-chen didn't reply, he found it's useless to argue with Jin since they do have a drift when it comes to traditional norms and practices.

"I guess you can say, I do" He fondly said.

"Okay, Mr. I have Dad attachment issues" They both softly chuckled at their ridiculous conversation.

Silence easily invaded their space. Jin drifted away from Wei chen and awkwardly blew his cheeks "So, I.. guess, you'll go now?"

"Yeah"

Jin's eyes were looking downwards and kept chewing his bottom lip "Then.. I guess, bye" He said before raising his head.

"Bye"

Wei chen walked, almost gonna zap himself to heaven. But then, Jin caught his arm while saying "Wait!"

Wei chen looked at him curiously and waited for him to speak.

"Uh... visit me!" Jin blurted out, almost confused but desperate.

"Sure"

"Every 7 days"

"Time in heaven works differ-"

"I know, 7 days for you, 7 months for me" Oh, Wei chen is a bit surprised. He doesn't know what to say. He thought his presence was unwanted.

"Okay" He stuttered, Jin casted a small smile. He lets go of Wei chen's arm and places his hands back to his hoodie.

"See you"

"See you"
