*Jay's biggest regret and the secret he has been keeping from Jake is, he is his lover in his universe, targeted by his fellow Jays because he was the jay of all jay. They were planning to use his Jake for Jay to breakdown but little did they know he goes ballistic and killed everyone in his universe. Jay may be a scientist, but to bring back someone to life, he's no god. So he hopped in another universe, went back to time and sought to protect the Jake there to ease the pain and guilt. Even if he goes back in time in his own universe, he would be violating time travelling code which will surely make him a target in the agency- it would be troublesome considering they are celestial beings. Which is why he decided to reside in a fresh timeline and fresh universe to cover his tracks.
