This wasn't supposed to happen.
Feeling Sunghoon's lips with his own. Jungwon must be dreaming.
Sunghoon broke the kiss and looked at Jungwon with his sparkling eyes. Anger and disgust, that's supposed to be Sunghoon's expression when he looks at him but why- and how?
In the novel 'King's daughter' Jungwon's role was the abusive fiance of the main character name Rali, a daughter of a poor count that was forced to be engaged with Jungwon due to the count's financial situation. When he woke up, he thought it was crazy that he suddenly replaced the villain formerly named as Daniel. But as years went by, Jungwon confirmed he really did. Daniel no longer exist in this world, only Yang Jungwon.
When he realized he was the villain, what he did first was sketch the plot in a piece of paper. It was said in the end, he will die in the hands of the crowned prince, Park Sunghoon. And he didn't want to that. So, he designed a route to avoid meeting the miserable end. Which is interacting with Park Sunghoon and letting him know, Yang Jungwon, is a nice person. It was a good thing Sunghoon was a senior in the academy. Otherwise Jungwon would have been fucked and resort to his idea of running away.
The problem could be easily solved if he just treated the main character nicely, however, in Jungwon's case, it's impossible. Somehow all the unluckiness in the world was attracted to him. Whenever a maid trips, breaks a glass or anything, people keeps getting the wrong imagery in their heads. Jungwon once tried to change it, but he was too late. Everyone already believed the rumor. The world is against him, it was progressing like how it is in the novel.
Jungwon had no other idea what to do, he kept trying but nothing changed. He might really die at this point. So, he forced to contact Park Sunghoon, the main lead and the crowned prince of this forsaken country. Jungwon's plan is to simply befriend Sunghoon then tell him his story to understand things in both perspectives. And he did the first step, It was hard to get used to Sunghoon's narcissistic comments about himself but Jungwon learned how to tolerate him as time pass by. Jungwon still gets annoyed about it but aside from that, Sunghoon is really nice. Of course, he's the main character, it makes sense why he's unnaturally kind. Either way, Jungwon has established a nice relationship with Sunghoon. They became inseparable after that and Jungwon was happy to know he secured his safety.
But, it didn't end there.
Jungwon met someone important. By that, he met the co-writer of this novel in this world. Apparently Jungwon isn't one of a kind and he learned that there's alot of people who transmigrated in this world before him, the writer told him, their souls go back to the original world after playing the role of whoever they were assigned with. The co-author met someone who played the role of the princess, an extra and some people around the nation but he never met people who got transported in a major role like Jungwon. Jungwon wasn't gonna blindly believe his claims until the co-writer revealed that his power allows him to see where souls go. Shocked and completely shattered by the revelation, Jungwon left the co-writer's place with a heavy heart.
He had to become the villain he doesn't want to be whether he likes it or not.
"Don't you get it? I hate your goddamn pretentious attitude, Park Sunghoon" It felt bitter hearing himself spit such foreign words but Jungwon needed to do it, he misses his world. His mom, sister and friends. He wants to go back, he needs to go back. "Don't fucking cross the line" After such confession, Jungwon started bullying Rali. He made her life a living hell. As for Sungwon, Jungwon distanced himself and made several rumors about Sunghoon to show him how dishonest and manipulative he was. He did everything in hopes of going back. Though he hated it, Jungwon had no other choice. He lived as the villain he was supposed to be.
In the novel, Rali and Sunghoon will meet at this banquet. Jungwon will verbally abuse Rali in the ball, whispering shit as "If you humiliate me, you know what will happen". Then Sunghoon will notice this and drag Rali out to get away from Jungwon. For Sunghoon, it is love at first sight. But for Rali, it felt new to find someone who is nice to her. From there, it will lead to Jungwon's eventual doom. Sunghoon and him are bound to fight each other for Rali. Obviously, Sunghoon will win and he'll die. He'll experience death but at least he will be back to his real world.
Jungwon did everything he could to make Sunghoon hate him. But why did he drag him out? and most importantly- Why the fuck did he kiss him? "I-I don't know what caused you to change, Jungwon-ah, but please stop" Jungwon's breathing started accelerating."I know you're a great person, don't do this Jungwon-ah, I love you" Jungwon stepped back out of surprise and held his chest, Sunghoon tried helping him but Jungwon stopped his hand.
"Don't act like you know me, stop acting as if you empathize, you're really disgusting-"
"Then stop this charade and come back to me" Sunghoon plead but Jungwon snapped, though he noticed something was off. He still went on with his role. Heartless and ruthless. Yang Jungwon should be someone with a steel heart.
"Are you out of your mind? Do you think kissing a person would make them stay?" Despite his current stance, Jungwon let out a maniacal laugh and glared at Sunghoon "Do you really believe I'll befriend someone like you? Worthless, brainless and most of all, powerless prince. You are nothing, Park Sunghoon. Nothing" The prince was silent, Jungwon took this as an opportunity to leave.
