Totonou Kunou didn't know when did it start.
Was it last summer? spring? Christmas? He somehow can't pinpoint the exact time he started thinking about Garo Inudo.
It's unlike him to keep someone in his mind for this long. Usually they will be gone after a month or two, they will stop lingering Kunou's thoughts and get stored somewhere in his memories.
However, Garo is different.
What is it? His perfectly straight blonde hair? His slender frame? His intellect? Maybe everything. They just spent a day or a few hours together yet, Kunuo wonders why he's so invested on Garo so much.
It's a mystery.
To him at least.
Everyday, when a package arrives, Kunou would silently hope it's from Garo. He always gives him presents, it wasn't entirely odd, but the contents of his gifts are like puzzle pieces. As if Garo made it that way to keep Kunou intrigued. Kunou isn't sure if there's another intention he doesn't know of, but by the looks of it, Garo successfully attained his goal. Kunou keeps waiting for Garo's presents everyday.
What the hell is wrong with him?
Mindlessly staring at nothing, a brazing smell invaded his nose. He
quickly adverted his gaze towards the pan. His brain processed the events slower than usual. When it concluded his food was burning, he screamed "CURRY!" then ran towards the stove..
The cherry blossoms were marvelous to look at during spring.
When the petals fall from the tree, unlike the usual green leaves that were stiff and tough, the ones in the cherry blossom trees were soft and delicate. Rather than a nuisance, it was considered beautiful. Both came from a tree yet people treat it differently.
Reika-san has imprinted Kunou the beauty of cherry blossoms. The joy of being alive. From Reika's story, she thought herself as a camera. A lifeless being without any emotions. Reika-san never experienced being a person until Kunou arrived. It might be a little bold for him to assume Reika felt that way, but whenever Kunou remembers her sincere smile while eating yakiniku. Her sparkling eyes that made her look like a kid receiving a candy. Rather than a date, it felt like Reika was trying to redeem the childhood she never experienced.
As they spend more time together, Kunou realized something in between their conversations. Hanging out, enjoying each other's company, eating. Reika never considered her as a romantic aide, he was there as a friend. Someone who could help her, the person she trusts the most.
It definitely tasted bitter the first time he realized his purpose, was it because he actually liked Reika? Yes, maybe, no. Kunou isn't sure, but he does feel the wind breeze weakening his back, making his eyes sweat whenever he sees a glimpse of a cherry blossom tree.
Falling in-love definitely sucks.
But Kunou moved on rather quickly. Was it odd? Not really, did he immediately got over it? No, it took a month or two. There's still a hint of sadness inside his chest whenever spring comes. But unlike before, Kunou got used to it.
Placing his hands inside his coat, Kunou hid half of his face in his scarf.
It's getting cold, perhaps he should go home early?
Kunou walked into a crowdless park, he wanted to avoid the busy streets. It's convenient this way, he wouldn't need to deal with the aftermath of possibly bumping into someone.
When he was near to the banks of the river, his feet stopped as he saw a familiar figure pass his peripherals. His eyes widen, it didn't take long for him to come up with an assumption. Blonde hair, black jacket, black jeans, boots and fair skin. Kunou slowly turned his head to face the other way. His muscles couldn't move any further, he didn't want to turn away.
