A/N: Get comfy, this is the longest chapter I've written for this book yet.

~ (Y/N)'s POV ~

And just like that, the day of the party had approached. There are a lot of faces here that I recognize from the masquerade ball, and there are some that I don't remember at all. This event is just a little bit bigger than the ball, yet there's barely much of a difference in the number of people. The newer employees were running things just as smoothly and if not, better.

At least for this party, I get to wear something much lighter. Like I usually do, I spent a lot of my time getting ready with Neon. It's really starting to pay off, especially since my makeup skills have significantly improved over the time I've worked for the Nostrade's. Since I was able to do that, I let her style my hair in an up-do style.

I was standing beside the stage with Kaimen, while his brother, Kaiyō, was standing guard by a nearby entrance with Mayumi. As well as this event was going, it was just going a little too well. This is getting real boring, and I just wanted to leave. Right as I let my hand down from covering my yawn, Mayumi started to walk to me.

"Can we trade places? I'd like to speak with (Y/N)", she explained to Kaimen.

He only responded with a shrug and begun to walk towards his brother.

"What's up?", I asked her.

"Nothing much, but you're rocking the red", she compliments.

"Thanks, and the black dress looks great on you", I replied with a smile.

"Thank you", she replied.

"So, how are you and Jade doing?", I asked.

"We're great! She has some family over at our place for a few days, so she's been occupied for a bit. How have you and Kurapika been?", she asked.

"We're doing alright", I replied.

"Speaking of Kurapika, where is he?", she questioned.

"He's working on his own stuff in his room", I replied.

"Is that work just as boring as this?", she asked.

"Most likely", I replied with a shrug.

"If that's the case, you should totally ditch the party. I'd suggest that you two take a stroll through the forest. It gets really pretty in the night, especially around this time of year", she suggested.
