Time.

That was the best thing I could handle.

I liked being in control of my time. I'd always go according to plan because I didn't like stirring up my schedule. I didn't like wasting time.

"If you have spare time naman, join a club.

I didn't have plan in participating in any extra-curricular activity since joining an organization would just equate to more responsibilities. And that would mean lesser time for studies.

I didn't want that. I just wanted to focus on my academics. Sa mga bagay na may grades.

I sat at the lounge area of the lobby as I waited for my school service. I watched the crowd of students passing in front of me. Some were my classmates and all of them were a group.

Our section was really clustered, filled with group of friends.

One of the circles contained all girls who liked hanging out at the canteen. Another contained all boys who would always loiter around the school, ask for a high-five from preschoolers, and hang around in front of the aircon.

We also had picnic girls who would eat in circle on the floor, otaku squad who always had play cards, board games, or fictional books with them-anything that could keep them busy. And of course, fangirls, who would randomly do a K-Pop dance in the classroom.

"Take note sa mga tatawagin ko. You will be the leaders," Ms. Reyes, our Values teacher, noted after explaining our first Performance Task. We had to write and shoot a five to ten minute film about the topics we had tackled. "Evangelista, Boson, Sanchez, Lapid, Magdalon, and Sarenas."

I sighed in relief when I heard my surname. That meant we would choose our own group members.

Pinatayo kami ni ma'am sa unahan.

My eyes roamed the room until they settled on Erin. Nakikipagsenyasan siya sa mga kaibigan.

"Evangelista, choose one."

"Erin."

Stephanie was my fifth choice when I realized we would also be needing boys.

I was down to my last choice when the door sprung open. Iniluwa sina Jairelle, Rain, Clyde, Rovin, Matthew at Kiel.

"Boys, 20 minutes kayong late!" giit ni Ma'am.

"Ma'am, sorry po. Galing po kami sa office. May inutos po kasi si Ms. Galang."

Ms. Reyes folded her arms. "Evangelista, proceed."

Among the six of them, Rain and Matthew are the most responsible... and academically-inclined...

"Ms. Evangelista?"
