𝕽emus smiled down at the letter in his hands, scanning over the familiar handwriting of the Hufflepuff veela he had grown incredibly fond of since the beginning of the school year. The Christmas holidays were well underway, and he was rather enjoying his time with his mum and dad, reading, drinking hot chocolate, playing board games and having simple family time in the cottage. His relationship with his dad wasn't as good as with his mum after being bitten, but they still try and spend as much time together as a normal family despite his condition. He lifts his head up when he heard his mum speak up from her armchair,

"Who has got you all smiley?"

"No one" He muttered, trying to hide his smile when his cheeks warmed, hiding the letter and sliding it into his pocket, when his dad stepped into the living room with a cup of tea, a teasing grin on his face at the sight of his son flustered,

"Is it from the pretty girl at the platform?"

"Pretty girl? No, nope, there was no pretty girl at the platform, you're absolutely wrong. I don't know any pretty girls, none at all" He shook his head, slumping against the couch, opening his book again, ignoring the matching grins on his parent's faces, his eyes flickering up to them, groaning and tilting his head back, "There's no girl"

"There's so a girl" his mum squealed, a wide grin on her lips when his dad nodded his head in agreement, Remus covering his face with his hands, shaking his head,

"There's no girl"

"Yes, there is. I saw her, oh she's really bonny Hope....blonde and bright. If I didn't know better i'd say she was a veela" Lyall chirped, eyeing his son carefully when he looked through his hands back at him, his cheeks warm, "Oh so she is a veela..."

"What's a veela? Is that one of the houses?" Hope inquired confusedly, yet excitedly when Remus plonked the book on his face, letting out another groan, shaking his head underneath the pages, his dad chuckling at him, turning to his wife,

"Veela are beings, much like Remus is, that are known for their beauty and captivating qualities in their blood. They have magic that doesn't require a wand, they can charm at their will to lure men into-"

"No, no, no stop right there!" Remus cried out, clamping his hands over his ears, curling up into a ball on the couch when his mum gestured for him to continue, not wanting to hear the next words fall out of his mouth,

"Continuing the bloodline. Although I doubt she's a full veela, there aren't many around and the ones that are go to Beauxbatons in France, she's probably a half veela. Hope, she's absolutely gorgeous"

"What's her name, Remmy?" Hope questioned, hugging her sweater closer to her, Remus slowly pulling the book down from over his face, a sheepish grin etching its way on to his face, shrugging and answering quietly,
