𝕽emus yawned tiredly, tiptoeing back into his bedroom after settling Maple back down when she'd woke up, weeping and upset.
A little rocking and swaying on her dad's warm chest, peering out of the window to the starry night and crescent moon mapped enchantedly across the sky, she'd drifted back off contentedly, allowing Remus to lay her back in her crib and go back to bed himself.
He slips back underneath the blankets as lightly as he possibly could, not wanting to disturb his sleeping veela, rolled on her side away from him, pearly locks mussed over her pillow. Another yawn escapes him, facing her direction, arm stretching across her with his hand resting on the smoothness of her abdomen.
His eyelids flutter closed, barely registering when she rolled over to face him, his chin tilting up ever so slightly for her to be able to snuggle her head into the crook of his neck, cocooning into his body. A dopey smile graces his lips when a soft sigh sounded from her, brushing her lips against his throat, then both falling back into the deep slumber whispering their names almost chantingly.
To be truthful, Remus didn't know how it had happened, his body had jolted and his eyes snapped wide open, hearing a thud and a crash downstairs, waking him up which couldn't have been no more than ten minutes later. He shook Willow's shoulder swiftly, grabbing his wand from the bedside table as she wakes, listening when he whispers urgently,

Alarmed from the sense of panic and distress laced in his tone, I quickly got out from the bed, my heart dropped to my stomach in dreaded fear when he held me behind his back protectively until I could rush to Maple's bedroom, scooping her up in my arms safely, a large lump growing in my throat when the sound of someone charging up the stairs echoed in my ears.
Then —
"What the fuck are you doing here?! You fucking prick!" Remus hissed, though the sigh of relief that followed shortly after allowed me to relax, keeping Maple on my hip as I stepped out of her bedroom onto the landing, finding Remus and Sirius stood face to face, both only in their pyjama bottoms.
Sirius exhaled a shuddering breath, rubbing his thumb over his forehead, swirling gusts of fear and worry building in his charcoal eyes. Remus was lowering his wand, slipping the end into the waistband of his pants weirdly, reaching to place his hands on Sirius' shoulders to stop him from shaking, questioning, "What? What's wrong?"
He just stared at us helplessly, opening and closing his mouth continuously with just squeaked noises leaving. Chewing my lip, I soaked in his appearance and frantic behaviour, knowing something unexpectedly worrisome had happened. My stomach flipped — completely differently to when it does when Remus walks into the room or smiles at me — this one was much, much different —
"Regulus has gone to the cave"
The both looked towards me when I whispered the answer for him throatily, our breath's hitching when Sirius nodded his head rapidly, burrowing his face in his hands, Remus stumbling backwards, paling considerably. He brooded for a few seconds, tapping his foot on the floor, then deciding calmly,
