𝕿he elder Potters couldn't help but feel tranced from the brimming love, joy and excitement in their hearts when they had all of their children under their roof to prepare for the festive season approaching quickly.
Surprisingly, it had been Regulus' suggestion to include everyone in the group to decorate the manor, to cherish the cheery moments of stringing the warm lights, hanging the stocking and decorating the tree. He, Sirius and Scarlette didn't have that growing up when they were younger, so now it was almost as if the magic of Christmas was brought to life the way it should always have been.
Mia danced her sparkling eyes around her decorated living room, cheeks aching from her soft smile as she spies the friends all on different stations. Sirius and James had of course insisted they work on the garlands and mistletoe — undoubtedly charming them like always — Peter, Willow and Scarlette were adding the baubles to the large tree and Regulus and Remus were in charge of all of the taller ornaments that others couldn't reach. It was undeniably perfect.
She rested her head back against her husband's chest when he appeared behind her with a mirrored smile, bending his arm around her waist and kissing her cheek with a murmur, "It's good we can still have this with everything going on. It feels complete, does it not?"
"It really does, and next year...there'll be two more of them" She agrees, her heart swelling massively as they both glance between their son, son in law, honourable son and honourable daughter — who's generous bump was protruding from the matching, festive pyjamas they were all cosied in.
James and Sirius eagerly gave each other a high five when they managed to tie another charmed mistletoe to the doorway, mischievous glints in their eyes when it began blossoming to it's first chosen couple.
"Prongs! Padfoot!" Peter grunted irritably, jumping out of the way when the mistletoe travelled towards the three of them — he wouldn't dare kiss Remus' wife or Sirius' girlfriend, they'd both murder him.
I tilted my head up with a snort when the mistletoe rested above both Scarlette and I, dangling down with a little bell ringing. Everyone paused with anticipation, Remus muttering a bet towards Regulus as the brunette locked her chocolate eyes on me, sending me a an unspoken statement I hummed quietly to.
Scarlette smirked, delicately leaning in as she spread her fingers against her best friend's jaw, her lips fanning her cheek about to brush when Willow swerved her head and sealed their lips together blissfully.
Peter dropped the tin of baubles he was carrying, James gasping loudly and reaching to hold on to the doorframe to steady his legs, Sirius fitting his fist into his mouth from pure shock, disbelief and entertainment. Regulus scoffed, reluctantly handing over his galleons towards the smirking werewolf stood up on the ladder, who had correctly predicted the kiss to the most specific detail. He supposed he was getting good at not underestimating Willoette.
