𝕽egulus didn't even raise his head from the pillow when the door creaked open and there was a shuffle inside and a small whisper.
He was drained — emotionally, physically and mentally — and all he wished was to sleep away the horrors, nightmares and terrors of his past, present and future haunting his mind every waking hour. Of course he knew he would have to suffer the wrath and consequences of his actions when he returned home, but he doesn't regret it, not when he's managed to collect not one horcrux but two — and he has an idea what the others are.
One step closer to saving his son from the demons Sirius used to shield him from.
Two bodies snuggled up either side of him, stretching their arms over his spine to secure him in the middle, a soothing, calm wave washing him from head to toe, absolutely knowing there wasn't many things better than a Willoette hug. These girls, that for a time were just his, and whilst he considers himself a sun-seeker for the two boys in the middle of his solar system of stars, he'd also say he was a love-seeker — Willoette love-seeker.
"If you decide to roll over on your side, do give me your arse so I can tell Sirius later and get him possessive and jealous" Scarlette insisted, breaking the silence, a snort of laughter sounding from Regulus and I in fondness of the brunette's way of thinking. There's no wonder as to why she was sorted into Slytherin, her slyness and cunningness rivals no other.
Regulus sighed, shuffling over to face towards me, Scarlette grinning devilishly over his shoulder, beginning to spoon him, his eyes rolling. My heterochromic eyes soaked in his exhaustion, the purple smears underneath his piercing sterling eyes looking dark against his ashen complexion. Reaching upwards, I smoothed some of his longer curls out of his face, then to the dark bags and cheek bones, offering quietly,
"We've drugged Jamesie-deer with a dreamless sleep potion, would you like one too?"
His eyebrow quirked tiredly, then twisting into concern and worry, parting his lips after a deep breath before Scarlette cut in, "Harry's with Sirius"
"Forgive me if that's not at all reassuring, Scar" He mutters, thinking of all the stupid and reckless things his brother could get up to around his son. It's not that he doesn't trust Sirius, because Sirius practically raised him growing up, took care of him, taught him what a father should rather than a sibling — it's just that Sirius can get a little carried away around delicate small humans and forget they're not also twenty one year old dogs you can yap and bound around, or zoom up high in the sky.
I chuckled mirthfully, pressing pressure on the skin of his brow bone to prevent him from frowning, the corners of his lips tugging upwards when I added, "Remus is down there, I don't think he's against scolding Sirius when he needs to. Besides, I think Sirius is rather trying to prove himself capable"
Regulus stared at me incredulously, evidently cottoning on to the meaning behind my words, Scarlette absently burying her face into the nape of his neck between his shoulders. I hummed lazily, shooting him a wink he mused from, unquestionably picturing the scene in his mind, then smirking, "Really?"
