𝕹ewt snapped his head up from his bowtruckles, pausing their heated argument as he hears footsteps, a flash of platinum hair appearing through one of the enclosures, causing the smile on his heart to reciprocate on his lips.

"Lilo" He greeted warmly as soon as she came into view, a soft smile breaking out onto her face, lunging forward and falling into his arms. He chuckled, stumbling backwards a few steps, yet holding on to her tightly, treasuring the sacred moment with his goddaughter, as he does every time he has the privilege to see her.

"Newt" I murmured back in a light sigh, nuzzling my head into the crook of his neck, bursts of joy exploding in my chest when something buried themselves into my legs, perching on my feet.

It had been a rather odd morning, more odd than usual for me— and i've known all of my life i'm classified as weird and strange. Remus was gone when I woke up this morning, having something to planned with the boys in preparation for the wedding of James and Regulus that was fast approaching.

I had slept in later than usual, so he had left me a note and left a cup of his infamous hot chocolate on the counter with a warming charm cast upon it that was to stay until I had finished it. He'd also prepared me my usual fruit bowl, leaving it ready for when I woke up in the fridge.

"Are you alright? I didn't know you were stopping by today, I take it Remus is busy?" The elder wizard asks, snapping me from my trance and train of thought, pulling back from the hug with a swift nod, bending down to scoop Teddy up into my arms, answering,

"I think it's some sort of bachelor party for Reg and James, just boys. I'm not sure what they're doing, probably drinking later though. I just thought i'd come and see you whilst i'm free, I know Scar's got called into work...I'm nipping to the village for some shopping afterwards, don't tell Re i'm planning on having steak tonight— I just have a urge for it"

He laughs with mirth, scratching the back of his neck as he spies her caressing the dark fur of the niffler, a distant glint in her eyes that made him raise his eyebrows. He's awful at reading other people's emotions, facial expressions, everyone except her— the little girl he'd raised nearly all of her life. He knew this look, she was calculating something, working her way through a puzzle, using her Willow's Weird Witchcraft as Scarlette cleverly named when they were eleven and it had stuck since.

"I won't tell him, don't worry, though I suppose he'll smell it when he gets back to the cottage, won't he? Wolf senses. Whatever you're figuring out, it will come to you, it always does" He replies, my eyes snapping back to him with warmth spreading across my cheeks, placing Teddy back down on the floor, humming gently,

"I suppose so, maybe it's just one of those days and because Remus is out, it feels a bit weird. Since he finished at the library, we've been at home a lot more together...what have you been up to?"

He shrugged with a small smile, gesturing to Pickett and the rest of the bowtruckles peeping out of their tree, responding, "I've just been arguing with this lot, some locks at better to be kept closed, you know?"
