"𝕬nd I fucking told him, I said don't be fucking stupid dark green is a far better colour than purple, and do you know what he did? He wouldn't speak to me for twenty minutes, pathetic little baby" Scarlette rambled on as we trotted through the hallways together on our way to the Gryffindor common room to see the four boys after departing to do some homework after dinner, them telling us to go and find them when we were done as it was only seven o'clock.
"It sounds like a real scandal, Scar" I hummed, not really paying attention and rather thinking about the person who had been occupying my thoughts for quite a while. A person with fluffy mousy locks, warm honey eyes, extremely attractive scars, and a deep infatuation with chocolate. The same person who's lips were on mine the day before and they've not stopped tingling since every time I remember, a shiver running down my spine and butterflies fluttering in my stomach.
"It was, Wills, it really was. So you know what I did when he ignored me? I went and sat with Reggie, well that got his bloody attention didn't it? Practically dragged me away and sat me on his bloody bony lap. Then he told me I looked pretty and we're all good again" She sighed as we approached the portrait of the fat lady, a snort escaping my lips at the useless story she'd just been telling me,
"Domestic disputes are tough" I nodded mocking seriousness, her nose wrinkling up, elbowing me in the ribs for my comment, as we stood in front of the portrait, "Good evening Gertrude, you're looking as gorgeous as ever. Are those new grapes I see?"
"Does Remus know how much you flirt with everyone?" The brunette muttered quietly to me as I chatted pleasantly with the portrait, her opening the door to the Gryffindor common room, an instant whiff of cinnamon, vanilla and cedar wood filling both of our lungs as we stepped inside, immediately noticing the group around the common room in their usual places beside the crackling fire.
James was playing with his snitch he had, letting it fly a few paces before catching it, Sirius was sprawled out across one of the couches, looking as though he was thinking hard about life, that was until Scarlette walked over and collapsed on top of him, snapping him out of his gaze. My eyes flickered to Peter, Marlene and Mary gossiping on the floor by the chess board i'm presuming they had just finished playing with, and then to Alice and Lily who were sat on the other couch, completing what looked like some homework.
Finally, I found him, resting on a red arm chair with a book in his hands, his robes discarded from classes and now he was wearing one of his what Sirius calls 'ugly grandpa sweaters', which I completely disagree with, because I adore them. They're comfortable, warm and soft. I approached slowly, perching on the arm of the chair, looking to where James just nearly swallowed the snitch and was choking, Marlene hitting his back harshly. I smiled faintly when I felt a hand rest on my back, my gaze shifting to the boy, who looked up from his book to me with warm cheeks,
He'd felt her come in. He didn't understand how he did but he felt the mood in the room shift when she entered, and it wasn't because of her charm or status, it was because his heart rate began picking up subconsciously as though his soul knew hers was here. He grinned lazily up at her, feeling jittery under her gaze, her eyelashes fluttering at him. He slid his hand around to her waist from her back, tugging her down to his lap, closing his book and focusing on her completely.
