𝕽emus sighed gently, trudging up the stairs from the Gryffindor common room towards his dorm, looking forward to having a good night's sleep, although he was hardly ever sleeping these past couple of weeks, not when his thoughts are consumed by a beautiful, lemon and chocolate loving, niffler owner, who just so happens to be a veela and the most perfect girl in the world. It's like a part of her was living rent free in his mind, she was always there no matter what he was doing, in class, at dinner when she was sat beside him, outside when he went on walks, or when he was pulling pranks and most especially at night.
He felt Sirius brush past him and run to their dorm, moments later James flying past him trying to get Sirius, Peter howling behind them, his eyebrows raising at the scene, nevertheless shrugging it off. He's getting used to all of their antics by now. He hums to himself when he's in the dorm, ignoring the way that James was wrestling with Sirius on his bed over something, Peter spurring them on, and moving over to his bed, his eyebrows knitting together when something caught his eye.
A small brown package with an addressed letter on the top.
Who'd sent him a package or a letter? And who would leave it on his bed rather than giving it to him?
Curiosity peaks inside of the werewolf, setting himself down on his single bed, picking up the letter and the package, feeling it was quite heavy and had a familiar shape to it. It was a book, he knew that much, he's received many of them over the years, there isn't a day goes by when one isn't in his hand. But he's still confused, Christmas has gone and it's nowhere near his birthday, that's two months off yet. He carefully picked up the letter, sliding his thumb underneath the flap, the wax unsealing, allowing him to pull out the letter and begin to read the incredibly unfamiliar handwriting,
'Dear Remus Lupin,
I am very pleased to hear from Lilo that you are interested in magical creatures and took an interest into my books. It's lovely to hear that the younger population of witches and wizards seem to have a knack for different magical creatures and seem to care for them the way you do.
If you have any questions, feel free to owl me back and I will answer any of a kind.
I hope you take this signed copy of my latest book as an appreciation for reading, and maybe I could make your acquaintance in the future? I'm sure Lilo would introduce us to each other.
Best wishes,
Newt Scamander.P.s. Teddy says hi'
He always wondered whether he would have a heart attack one day with his condition or simply because Willow Bellamy made his heart race, but this. This feeling he had welling up inside of him. He thought he was about to go into cardiac arrest and neither of the Marauders would realise because they're too busy being the idiots they are. It's dramatic of him, something he would tease Sirius for acting out, but this is Newt Scamander, a wizard he's idolised since he was incredibly young and his dad bought him his very first copy for his birthday at seven years old.
