𝕴t wasn't difficult to notice Remus was in and out of it the entirety of the detention he dragged me to, in fact on numerous occasions the Scottish witch had to call his name a few times before he would answer.

She thought he must be stressed about the exams we we're currently in the middle of completing.

Of course, I know better. His right hand was resting on my left one the whole time, his forefinger continuously stroking along my ring finger as though his touch would engrave a band to officialise the engagement. I also know he's desperate to give me a ring to build on the promise, but we haven't had the time or found one special enough yet. I don't mind, I don't need a ring to tell me i'm in this with him for life, my soul's love and connection for him tells me that.

We departed from the rest of them when she allowed us to leave, the others trudging back towards the lion's den whilst we descended for the badger burrows.

I turned to him with a gentle smile, my hand still encased in his despite the height difference between his. He looks down to me, wearing his own brilliant smile, so easy, so delicate it makes my heart ache beautifully in my chest. I leaned further into his side, murmuring in the comfortable silence,

That thought makes him sick, no, he wants Hufflepuff cabinets so when he opens them, he thinks about her.

I flicker my eyes up to find his eyes soft and his cheeks warm as he nods, reaching our laced hands up to press a lingering kiss to the back of my hand, declaring,

"We can have yellow cabinets. As long as they're no plants screaming at me randomly"

I snorted, rolling my eyes playfully at his words and his opinions towards my strong subject, a birthright. I nodded, deciding to tease him as I recalled, "No scary plants that frighten the piss out of you"

He grows warmer under his sweater, knowing she was repeating his words from when he asked her to marry him in the Hospital Wing. Their odd proposal. He ignores her hearty laughter at his expense, focusing on the fact that she doesn't apologise when she laughs anymore, she's okay with in herself, almost proud of her heritage of being a being, and it couldn't make him happier.

He's proud of her.

"Get in there before I decide to run away" He tells her, swatting her backside when she taps the barrels with a mischievous glint in her eyes and a knowing smile as she mutters over her shoulder,
