𝕯umbledore smiles fondly of the Hufflepuff rested in front of him on her chair, eagerly sucking on a lemon drop they both share a liking towards.

"It's a sweet thought, isn't it?" I pondered out loud, keeping my eyes locked on the magnificent phoenix besides the headmaster as I resided in his office, though he didn't answer, compelling me to continue on my own, "How we manage to find love and comfort in the people we had no idea we would. One moment you don't know anything about them, the next they're your whole world"

This could be said for most people I know. Remus and I, Scarlette and Sirius, Regulus and James. It all happened so quickly, it doesn't feel real that a group that used to be just Scarlette, Regulus and I watching the four Marauders from afar was now intricately intertwined with them like no other person or group has managed to be before. Sure, the Gryffindor girls had talked to the boys on numerous occasions, but they weren't like us, it was almost as if we're a full group now, and I couldn't be happier about it.

"I praise myself on the theory that the best type of love comes unexpectedly" He hummed, my eyebrow raising when I met his twinkling gaze, the professor matching my thoughts on the subject.

"Have you ever been in love?" I questioned, leaning back in my chair, not missing the lightening flash which changed his whole demeanour into sadness and sorrow for a second until he composed himself again, nodding his head in somewhat of a wise manner,

"I like to say I have.....nothing like you and Mr Lupin though, mine was much more...complicated. You're the talk of the school these days, naturally....we're not a school of gossips, but I do think you're rather precious if I do say so myself" He responded, eyeing the way the girl hummed with a faint smile teasing at her lips, her eyes straying from his as she muttered,

"They used to say the same about my parents....shame they ended in such a tragedy"

"Accidents are freakish—"

"Pardon me, sir, but I think we both know the Bellamy's death was not an accident nor was the cause a muggle car crash. I'm not blaming you, nor your authority in the ministry for the matter, i'd just like to not accept the lies people have been trying to feed me my entire life" I said in a blàse tone, glancing down to my lap and twitching my nose, hearing nothing but silence from the older wizard before he sighed, again uttering,

"My condolences again, they were lovely people. I taught them myself...I see them much in you, more then you think. Louis' looks and charm, yet Ayla's wit, loyalty and protectiveness over those you care about. You have...what I call, the best of both worlds"

"And I have Newt's strong desire to seek harmony" I pitched in, unwrapping another lemon drop and popping it in my mouth, hearing him chuckle lowly in agreement.

"That you do...we all do"

"Mmhm....you taught him too, didn't you, sir? Tom Riddle was he called? You've mentioned him before to me, Voldemort— quite a peculiar name he's made for himself" I sighed gently, leaning forward in my seat when he fumbled with some parchment on his desk, shaking his head whilst looking me in the eye.
