𝕴 hummed the tune 'Honey, Honey' whilst sitting at the vanity in my room, using my curling wand to twist soft waves into my pearly hair.
Today was Christmas day, December 25th 1976, and fortunately for us, Newt and I were joining everyone at the Potters after they wanted to celebrate the festive day all together. It took a small ounce of persuasion for Newt to come, and when I say small I mean Remus and I literally on our knees in front of him as a way of begging and pleading.
Me going wasn't an issue, and he really likes the Potters, the Lupins, Peter's mum and all our friends, he's just not used to being around many people other than me majority of the time— and well now Remus. It's understandable. But he is coming for a little while which made us all extremely delighted, Hope and Lyall have been wanting to get to know him more considering he was my legal guardian and i'm with their son.
Remus. Remus John Lupin. My Remus John Lupin. What a heart-warming name, a sweet thought of the sandy haired werewolf I love. I smiled ridiculously to myself, peering down to the dainty promise ring on my finger, my stomach in flips at the sight. Merlin I love him. Everything about him.
"You're daydreaming about him again" Newt pipes up from the doorway, causing me to glance over to him dressed in some appropriate tailored clothes, my cheeks blushing faintly at the teasing smile on his face, his eyes trailing down to his watch, muttering, "That's ten minutes"
"You've been stood there for ten minutes?" I repeated, my eyes widening ever so slightly until he shook his head, responding,
"No, I called your name ten minutes ago, you didn't answer, I just came and you were in a day dream. It wouldn't take a salamander three guesses to know who you're thinking about, Lilo"
"I can't help it, have you seen him? He's gorgeous" I sighed softly, pointing to a photograph I have pinned up on my vanity mirror of him eating chocolate, looking up to the camera unpreparedly as I had quickly taken the photo. His honey eyes were wide and his cheeks warm due to being full of chocolate, his scars glittering in the warm glow of the Gryffindor common room, his sandy hair fluffed and his accustomed knitted sweater was ruffled on him. It was imperfectly perfect, just like him.
"As you have told me many time, yes, yes he is" He chuckled, my face scrunching up as I returned back to the mirror, finishing off my hair as he took a seat on my bed, waiting as he glanced around my room, his eyes zeroing on one particular photograph "What's this one?"
I looked over to it, feeling my body growing hotter from the one with me and Remus kissing that James had sneakily took a photograph off and had decided to show everyone he saw that day the photograph, first years to seventh years, teachers included. Poor Slughorn didn't know what to do, he blushed more than i've ever seen before— and i'm not sure if it was because of Remus, me or the both of us together in the kiss.
"Oh shove off, Newt" I grumbled, his grin only widening as he looked to my flustered state, "James took it, we had no idea!"
"And you thought you would pin it u— ah! Don't be throwing things, little rainbow" He warned playfully when I hurdled a beauty blender in his direction, my eyes rolling as I turned back around, finishing my makeup by adding some lip gloss I saved until after my hair so it didn't contaminate with each other.
