𝕽emus stares down at the book in his hand, biting back a booming laugh when he reads one of Willow's opinionated comments in the margins.
It would be a bit off if he'd began chortling whilst sauntering through the hallways, pages of a tragedy glued to his hands, people may think he's weird. He knows he is weird though, he's been the odd one out his entire life, isolated with his lycanthropy— that was until he came to Hogwarts and found a connection in the Marauders, spreading to the Gryffindor girls, two Slytherins and a certain intuitive Hufflepuff. He's embracing his differences now because of her.
Still, he didn't want to be spotted acting bizarre and rumours to spread that he was some sort of maniac. Loony Lupin was frankly enough of a fun nickname to have.
"Absolute nutter" He mutters to himself with an uncontrollable smile on his face, picturing pearly hair and differed coloured eyes finding it amusing to scribble her thought down on this specific page.
"My thoughts exactly, Lupin, normally one talking to oneself is seen as abnormal behaviour" A nasally voice drawled out, the werewolf internally groaning and raising his head out of the book reluctantly, staring at beady black eyes with a blank expression on his face as he remarked,
"A bit hypocritical for you to talk about abnormalities with that nose of yours, Snape"
The Slytherin boy glared harshly as though if he tried hard enough Remus would begin to choke on some poisonous potion he would brew in his bat dungeons. He ignored him, briefly glancing over his shoulder to see none other than Mulciber and Avery sneaking up behind with taunting smirks on their faces, speaking menacingly,
"Caught the halfbreed, Snape? What's that you have there Loony Lupin?"
He raised an eyebrow, glancing down to his book and back up to the boy, putting on a condescending smile and answering cheerfully, "That is a book. A written or printed work consisting of pages glued or sewn together along one side and bound in covers"
The three Slytherins hissed like snakes for his response, only adding to Remus' amusement and entertainment, not breaking their eye contact once. It was broad daylight, they wouldn't try anything, especially with Severus knowing he was a werewolf, he'd be stupid to risk anything— and obviously facing Willow's wrath.
Avery nudged Mulciber with what Remus could only describe as a dying fish's laugh, lip curling up as he glared at him,
"He thinks he's clever"
"Not think...know. I know I am clever" He corrects, raising his hand to run a hand through his mousy hair, hoping the interaction would be over shortly so he could continue his journey.
"I wouldn't be so self assured of yourself, Loony Lupin. There's been more intel recently, floating around the castle...I had a little run in with your harpy earlier. Pretty little thing, isn't she?" They continued to talk, Remus' amber eyes narrowing in warning, baring his teeth protectively at the subject of Willow.
