𝕬 sudden sense of deja vu washes over Remus like a wave from the ocean as he closes his last NEWT exam, satisfied, and catching a sight of his fiancée a few rows ahead, scribbling away with her head on her desk practically in an awkward position. It reminds him of when they were taking OWLs, they weren't far into their relationship yet he was still head over heels for her, he knows he always has been.
There's no doubt in his mind when they leave the Great Hall she'll complain of her hand feeling cramped, and the toothy smile he'll gain when he reaches to massage his thumbs into the pressure points already has his heart swelling.
He bites on his thumb as he stares, unable to tear his eyes away from the braid weaved effortlessly into her hair, secured by her accustomed black ribbon. He feels the sudden urge to play with the curled end, tugging and twirling it around his fingers, his eyes flickering to the enlarged clock at the centre front of the hall, spying there was only a few minute before the exam ends.
And then they were free, there was nothing left to do except enjoy their very last days at Hogwarts. Something he felt very conflicted about every time he thinks of it. Hogwarts has been his home for seven years, he met the love of his life and his best friends here, something he never imagined to have. He didn't want to leave, it was safe, it was the normal, he didn't want to go out in to the world and be a pawn in war, his Willow to be unprotected.
On the other hand, the idea of marrying her, buying a place together and just building on their relationship makes him very interested and content. He's desperate to put a pretty ring on her finger, aching to officialise their engagement.
He doesn't draw his attention from her when the chiming sounds and the invigilator calls for the end of the exam, cheers and claps erupting in the Great Hall from all the students, extremely happy and pleased exams were over. It's been a stressful year, and now they were at the end of it.
"Moony....Moons...Moonshine" Sirius calls, snapping his fingers in front of his face, causing the boy to scowl, reaching and biting on the end of his finger, earning a girly shriek from the raven haired boy.
"He did say he would bite you if you did that again" Peter defends, having appeared at his side too, hands resting on the werewolf's shoulders he imagines are James', knowing he was correct when the boy hums,
"He's too busy staring at our Willow-tree to listen. We're going down to the Black Lake to meet Reg, dear Moony, if you'd like, we can leave you here?"
"Piss off" He mumbled, shrugging them off as they all laughed boyishly at his expense, Sirius helping him pack up his things and handing him his bag with a wink, making Remus suspicious, "What do you want?"
"Why on earth would you think I want something? I was just merely helping out my other girlfriend's boyfriend" Sirius replies, chuckling at the frown on Remus' face when he turned his head away and whispered something under his breath, shaking his head and wondering,
