Lovers to Parents (Bucky x reader)

Jasper's argument

When the pair of you got home, you were almost in a rush to get back to the suite and take leashes off of the wolves, while putting more things to the side to take with you to Shield HQ. Bucky had bought a cooler bag one your way out of the farmer's market, from one of the vendors that sold fruits, and he used that to pack your fruits for the week. You brought out the new toys, and Cloud grabbed his ball, and went to put it beside your purse. You smiled, and bent down to give him a kiss on top of the head before putting it in your purse. You knew this meant he wanted to start going for walks at Shield too. He was politely telling you, without telling you. You looked around the bedroom, and went to grab a few books you haven't read yet, and put them into an overnight bag while Bucky went to get Snow and Jasper their steaks to eat. Your stomach was in knots, and you really didn't want to go back to Shield, but also knew it was a necessary evil. You sat on the side of the bed and Cloud came over to put his head on your lap and whined softly. You started scratching him behind the ears, as your mind wandered about what you had to do for work for the week. You pouted slightly, knowing you had to leave tonight as well. You didn't want to leave the pack or Bucky so soon. You hadn't seen Clint or the boys for over a week, and you missed them dearly.
"How are you holding up, sugar?" Bucky came into the room, his stride had an almost catlike grace to it.
"I don't want to leave again" your eyes welled up slightly with tears, pooling at the bottom waterline, however not pouring over.
"You have your mission, and it's incredibly important. We need your help, so we can use your gear in the field" Bucky came over and sat beside you and wrapped his right arm around you so you could still scratch Cloud behind the ears. He leaned over and kissed you softly on the side of the head and just held you close under his arm. "I believe in you, you won't be long at figuring this out" he added in a soft murmur.
"Baby, I'm scared that I won't figure this out" you sighed softly.
"I know you will, I'm willing to bet on it. Hell, I already am" he gave a grin. "I'm waiting here patiently while you work" he reminded you.
"You have so many missions this week" you looked at him, sparing him a glance.
"I'll still wait for you to go to bed, and sleep with you over the video call" he leaned over and gave you another reassuring kiss on your cheekbone this time. "We are going to get through this," he added softly.
"I ordered some wedding planning books online, that should be coming to the compound this week. Can you make sure to have someone pick it up?" you looked at him hopefully.
"Of course I will, doll," he grinned. "I might take a look at them before you get home. I can't let you have all the fun" he gave a sly wink.
"Thank you, not just for that. But for believing in me" you nuzzled under his arm a bit more.
"Always, doll" he chuckled. "Come on, it's time for lunch" he pulled away and stood up. Cloud backed away from your legs and gave a soft bark to tell you to move and you followed Bucky's lead.

Lunch was a fairly quiet affair. No one seemed to want to address the elephant in the room. The three of you leaving early this week seemed to be bothering the team as a whole, and worse, the ones not in the compound didn't even know yet. You had thought about reaching out to Clint and the boys and warning them, but you were doubting yourself that they would mind. You missed your boys, and you definitely missed your papa Clint. Clint had always treated you as though you were one of his own children, but also as an equal. It was a fine line that he walked between, but he was very successful. You missed his gentle teasing, and how he was always keeping you on your toes. How he would come into the living room and just get you to watch a documentary with him.
You also missed the boys, and how they always had this positive energy. How they always seemed excited to have you around, and how they would even dote on the wolves. You were relieved they were watching the pack while you were both on missions. You knew at least they would have someone that would treat them respectfully while you both were busy. You wished that Shield headquarters was closer to the city, so you could take the boys supper a few nights. You would obviously have to borrow one of the Shield SUVs but you would love to do it. You missed having your little picnics with them.
When you got back from lunch, both you and Bucky went to your living room part of the suite, and he laid down on the couch and reached out both of his hands in a grabby motion and you smiled softly before laying down in front of him, and he wrapped his arms around you. Blue whined loudly calling "Mama" and "Papa" from the floor until you moved your body enough to pull him up and have him crawl on top of both of you on your sides. You rested your head on Bucky's arm and closed your eyes for a moment, just enjoying the time that you had with your pack and Bucky.
"Did you want a small wedding or a big one?" Bucky's voice broke through the air, and you felt his breath on the nape of your neck, gently tickling you.
"I prefer something small, what about you?" you asked curiously.
"Just something small," he quickly agreed. "We should have Blue be the ring barer" he added with a soft chuckle.
"Cloud and Jasper should walk down the aisle on either side of him like his bodyguards, and have Melody and Snow be the flower girls" you giggled, trying not to move too much, in case you disturbed Blue.
"Sounds like the start to the perfect wedding" Bucky whispered softly. "I want Stevie to be my best man," he added quickly.
"That goes without saying" you gave a soft sigh. "I want Wanda as my maid of honor. I also want to invite detective Morgan and his wife Penelope to the wedding" you looked over your shoulder at him.
"Done" he leaned forward and kissed you on the back of the neck.
"Peter loves taking pictures, I'd like him to be the photographer" you mused softly.
"I'll ask him" he kissed you again, giving the back of your neck a playful nip. You giggled softly, and moved in his embrace. Blue let out a whine, bringing you back to the present and you stopped moving.
"When do you want the wedding?" you chanced moving slightly, making Blue whine again.
"As soon as possible, how about you?" he asked curiously.
"I don't want to be showing" you shook your head. "Maybe after the baby is born"
"I think you would look beautiful in a wedding dress, regardless if you are showing or not" Bucky seemed to think for a moment before responding. "How about as soon as the serum is done, it doesn't matter if you are showing yet or not"
"I don't know Bucky, wedding photos are forever" you bit on your bottom lip.
"We can brag that our first born child was with us in the wedding" he squeezed you a little bit tighter.
"Wedding planning is not going to be easy," you warned him.
"We can get a wedding planner" he shrugged, his arms moving against you.
"That costs money, and we have a lot of money going to pay for the cabin," you reminded him.
"With the amount of money I have saved up? Come on doll, let me get you a wedding planner" he started peppering kisses on the back of your neck. "Let me pay for the contractor"
"We will go half way on the contractor" you finally gave in slightly. "But I'm not sure on the wedding planner" you shook your head.
"Please" he gave you a soft kiss. "Pretty please" he nipped at your collar bone making you giggle in delight as his beard brushed against the skin.
"Okay" you finally gave in. "But I don't want one of those invasive ones, or one of the ones that will use us as personal leverage to get more clients" you huffed slightly.
"Done. I'll ask Tony for the name of his wedding planner," he moved his hand to start rubbing at your lower belly for a moment, making Blue whine again before he moved so he was up on just your shoulder. You moved your hand up to pull him down so he was laying in front of your chest and he let out a sigh. It was like he could sense that your time together tonight was going to be short.
"It's like he knows" you whispered to Bucky.
"We all know" Snow broke into your thoughts. "We don't like it," she added.
"We wish you could work from home, where we can keep an eye on you" Jasper readily agreed.
"It's not going to be that easy this time, Jasper" you spoke out loud, and quickly whispered to Bucky what they had said.
"Cloud explained these creatures to us, we want to help protect you" Jasper responded quickly.
"I know you want to protect me, but you have to be here to take care of your family," you reminded him.
"You are a part of this family," Jasper shot back.
"I consider you family too, but it's too dangerous to have the Hydra agents here on site. There's too much at risk" you continued to reason with him.
"There's a lot of risk with you not being here" Melody interrupted. "We are a pack, and we need to be together. It doesn't feel right when you are gone"
"It doesn't feel right to me either, but to protect the pack for the future, this is something I have to do. I don't like it either" you sighed heavily, before taking a moment to whisper to Bucky what was said.
"Y/N is really good with serums, it won't be for much longer" Bucky gave his say on the matter.
"We don't know that" you whispered.
"I know you, and I know that you are smart. I know Tony and Bruce are smart, so I know you three have got this in the bag" Bucky shrugged easily. "Just don't forget to come home on weekends"
"If there is a serum being made, I can't promise that" you groaned.
"Then you better make room in your bedroom at Shield, because I'll be coming over" Bucky rubbed his chin on the back of your neck, creating a beard burn and making you giggle out loud. "I'll be bringing the pack with me" he added for good measure.
"Those pups aren't ready to be moved yet" you warned him.
"Then I'll get a babysitter" he seemed to be full of answers for tonight.
"No one outside of the compound," you warned him.
"Of course not," he shook his head. "I'll only pick someone that we both trust"
"Good" you breathed a sigh of relief, relaxing into his strong arms once again. Blue nuzzled into you, seeming to be taking the moment for what it was, and not bothering to play with his toys for now.

When it was time for supper, you were half asleep from just resting on Bucky. You knew you were leaving as soon as you were done eating, so you had to go put your things on the jet. Bucky went and grabbed your suitcases, while you grabbed the overnight bag, the cooler bag, and your purse. Melody and Cloud had gone outside for some private time a few minutes before, so you just had Blue nipping at your heels as the pair of you made your way to the jet on the tarmac.
"I figured you would be bringing a few bags too" Nat came out of the jet with Bruce close behind her. "You just missed Tony and Pepper dropping off Tony's stuff. He has more than you do" she gave a sly smile.
"I'm not helping him carry it in" you shook your head in good humor. "I'll have my hands full with my own" you decided.
"I'll help you with your bags," Bruce quickly offered. "I only brought the one, but I have enough clothes for a few weeks," he shrugged.
"Thank you Bruce" you gave a wan smile.
"Yes, thank you" Bucky quickly added before walking past the pair of them. "I don't want my dame doing too much heavy lifting" he continued as he got inside the jet. His voice carried in the evening air easily. You quickly followed him in the jet and put your bags and purse down beside your suitcases and Blue barked angrily at the suitcases. You stooped down and quickly picked him up and he started licking your cheek.
"Blue is all the heavy lifting I need" you giggled as you both came back out. "Where's Anastasia?" you asked when you realized that she wasn't with either of them, and they were waiting on both of you.
"She's on a time out. She chewed up a pair of Nat's leather shoes" Bruce grimaced.
"No!" you gasped.
"I think she's throwing a temper tantrum that Bruce is leaving again" Nat nodded. "I really liked those pumps too," she sighed heavily. "We made her sit in the corner for now"
"Your poor shoes" you grimaced. "Poor thing, she's too young to understand"
"How do you do it with Blue?" Nat asked as the five of you started going back towards the building.
"Thankfully, he doesn't go after shoes, yet" you scrunched your nose. "I think the older wolves keep him in check when we aren't paying attention"
"That's true, Cloud and Melody seem to always be keeping an eye on him when Jasper and Snow are too busy with their own pups" Bucky nodded.
"Maybe we should bring Anastasia down to see the older wolves more often," Bruce decided.
"I will this week. Peter and Pietro agreed to watch Anastasia when I'm on a mission, since they will be helping Bucky with the pack" Nat told him. "I just have to bring them supper one night during the week, while they are out patrolling"
"I've already called Wednesday" Bucky gave a grin.
"I'll take Thursday then. Wanda said she was going on Tuesday" Nat giggled. "The boys must have planned this out well"
Bruce opened the door for all of you to walk through, and waited patiently until Bucky was the last to go through to close the door.
"I'd better bring Jasper and Snow their steaks" Bucky sighed and headed towards the kitchen to grab their meals.
"You go sit down, I'll go get Anastasia" Bruce gave Nat a kiss on the cheek.
"Thank you" Nat smiled at him easily and followed you to the dining room. You put Blue back on the floor and he immediately went to his meal, where Edwin and Zora were already eating. You gave a sad smile seeing him just lay down in front of his food dish for a moment, unsure if he wanted to eat yet or not. "Did you reach out to Clint?" Nat asked as you both sat down at your respective spots at the table.
"No, I doubt it bothers him that I'm not here yet" you gave a sad sigh.
"Are you crazy? He misses you. So do the boys. Give them more credit" Nat sassed you.
"I'll text him" you took out your phone and drafted up a text for Clint and the boys but didn't hit send. You figured you would send it as soon as you were back on the jet again. You made sure to explain that you missed them very much, and you were called back to Shield early along with Bruce and Tony, and that you hoped to see them next week.
"Did you send it?" Nat asked as Bruce came into the room and sat down, shortly followed by Bucky who ran around to sit beside you.
"Not yet" you shook your head.
"The boys miss you" Wanda spoke up. "Just like we all miss the three of you while you are gone. I personally miss our tea nights"
"I miss those too" you gave a soft smile.
"We had better hurry, Fury has personnel waiting on us to get there" Tony quickly informed everyone. "There's a lot for us to work on, and they want us settled in and ready to start first thing in the morning"
