Lovers to Parents (Bucky x reader)

Blue's insight

You walked proudly down the hallway holding Bucky's hand as Blue, Melody and Cloud walked directly behind you. Each of them had their heads held high as they passed curious Shield agents in the hallway. When you got to the cafeteria and walked in, you immediately saw that Tony had pulled a bunch of the long tables together and most of the team was already assembled and sitting together. You saw Zora, Edwin and Anastasia were already eating their breakfast happily at the end of the table. You and Bucky went and got your breakfast, as well as for the wolves and made your way over to the table.
"Y/N!" Peter and Pietro jumped up at the same time as you got close and ran over to pull you into a hug. You quickly put your food down on the table and embraced them both. You held the boys close to you before you pulled back and looked at their faces. They looked exhausted.
"You've been doing extra hours in the city again, haven't you?" you asked them after a moment.
"I told you she would know," Peter hissed to Pietro.
"It must be that mom instinct," Pietro teased.
"No, I know my boys. You look tired" you sighed heavily.
"We didn't want to sleep until we got here. It was a big surprise, but we had to wait until Bucky, Clint and Nat got back from their mission to come" Peter informed you quickly.
"It looks like a lot of the team needs some sleep" you looked around the table at all the sleepy faces. Bruce and Tony both look overjoyed, and happier than you had seen them in weeks. You knew your face reflected that as well.
"You can't hog her to yourself" Wanda came over and pushed the boys out of the way and gave you a warm hug. "I've missed you, sister," she whispered into your ear.
"I've missed you, and our tea dates" you whispered back, warmed at the fact that she called you sister out loud.
"Let me feel" she put her hand on your lower abdomen and she grinned. "They are growing stronger. Now what's this about an attack, and you didn't even call me?" she started to sass you.
"Nope, none of that today. We promised" Clint pushed Wanda out of the way and pulled you into a bear hug. "Damn I missed you kid" he whispered in your ear. "Laura and the kids keep asking when you, Bucky and the pack are coming back" he stood back and looked you up and down.
"As soon as the serum is ready. The last few batches we tried just isn't working on the werewolf's blood. We can't risk trying it on him until we see positive results" you huffed a little.
"You also promised me a wedding once that serum is made" Bucky reminded you.
"I told you I don't want to be showing..." you started.
"Okay, let's let the pregnant one sit down and eat first" Tony called out. "I'm sure there's more hugs to go around"
"I missed you papa Clint" you whispered to Clint before he backed away.
"I missed you calling me that, but we do have to talk about your security protocols in the lab" Clint went back to his seat.
"I can't believe they surprised us" Bruce whispered to you excitedly as you sat down next to him, and Bucky quickly took the seat next to you after putting the food down for the wolves.
"Me neither, I had no idea" you giggled, leaning into Bucky a little bit. He automatically started rubbing your back.
"Lady Y/N, it has been an age" Thor nodded to you.
"We had been hoping to see you come back to the compound. Your soldier has spoken of nothing but you and his pack while you've been gone" Loki added.
"It's good to see you again gentlemen" you gave a soft smile before digging into your food. You hummed happily as you took your first bite, but immediately started to feel nauseated and Bruce looked at you worriedly.
"Maybe too much excitement" he whispered as you stood up quickly and made a beeline for the bathroom. Bucky watched worriedly until you disappeared, but knew enough not to move.
"How long has it been since she made it through a whole meal?" he asked, looking at Bruce for an answer.
"About a week," Tony answered for Bruce. "She will come back and finish what she started. She always does. She's been keeping her promise to you" he vowed.
"I hate to see her like that" Bucky frowned and went back to his food.
"She loves her bacon, eggs, and toast for breakfast every day. She's like clock work" Bruce gave a small smile. "I've been monitoring what she eats, since she's having a super soldier baby"
"She's got a small bump now," Bucky grinned proudly.
"I felt it, it's so cute" Wanda interjected quickly. Vision gave a small chuckle and wrapped his arm around her waist.
"Now I need to feel it," Nat announced, feeling slightly left out on the new development.
"How did she react to seeing you three in her bedroom this morning?" Steve asked, a glint of excitement in his eyes.
"She cried a little bit" Bucky grinned in satisfaction knowing that those tears were tears of joy.
"So did Bruce" Nat smirked, leaning over to kiss Bruce on the cheek. "I snuck into bed and wrapped myself in his arms. The first thing he said is, "Is this a dream?". I swear he's adorable"
"It's the longest we've been apart" Bruce shrugged with a blush feeling a little embarrassed for being exposed to the team. A small hush fell over the team while they continued eating and you finally made your way back in just after Tony finished eating his meal. You hurriedly went back to your spot at the table and sat down, starting to shovel your food in without fully tasting it. You had been in such a rush to go back to the bedroom to brush your teeth again, you felt slightly winded and the nausea was still there. You felt exhausted and sore.
"If I may, I know a few spells from helping mother with pregnant woman on Asgard. I could assist with the morning sickness" Loki offered as you finished your meal, and you looked at him in surprise.
"Would it hurt the baby?" you asked, the first thing that came to mind.
"Goodness, no. It just helps with the morning sickness so you do not have to suffer so" Loki shook his head.
You took your glass of orange juice and drank it down while mulling the offer over in your head. "Yes please, I'd like that" you finally consented to his generous offer.
"I would need to touch you, is that alright with you and your soldier?" he asked quickly.
"If she's okay with it, I am too," Bucky replied quickly while looking over towards you.
"Yes, please" you nodded your consent and stood up from your seat. Loki swept out of his chair and came over, pressing his hand on your lower abdomen, and on your forehead before reciting a small spell. You felt the wave of nausea leave you almost immediately and you felt relieved. "Thank you" you whispered to him and he nodded curtly before moving back to his seat and sitting back down.
"Daddy" you heard Anastasia make her way over and she pawed at Bruce's leg. Bruce quickly reached down and picked her up and gave her a kiss on the top of her head. "I missed you daddy"
"She said she missed you daddy" you whispered to Bruce and his face broke out into a smile.
"I missed you too my little Anastasia" Bruce kissed her again for good measure.
"Mama, why are you not at home?" Blue came over and you picked him up.
"We are working on something very important here, and I can't come home yet" you shook your head.
"What's important?" he asked quickly.
"Something to help the pack fight nasty monsters" you had to think on your feet.
"What kind of monsters? I'll protect you mama" Blue perked his ears and let out a small howl that made Edwin, Anastasia and Zora howl as well. The room fell silent as a bunch of Shield agents looked over curiously.
"The bad kind that mommy and daddy fight to keep you safe, little one" you giggled, kissing him on top of the head. Zora and Edwin ran to their parents wanting to be picked up as well upon seeing Blue gaining affection.
"I'm strong like mama and papa" Blue decided quickly.
"Very strong" you giggled, combing your fingers through his fur.
"How are their speech patterns?" Bruce whispered to you.
"Incredibly developed. More like a four year old now" you told him quickly. "We missed quite a bit of learning"
"They are always with Melody, Jasper and Snow" Nat told you with a small smile. "I'll have to get you back on that machine when you get home so I can talk with my little Anastasia about my shoes again"
"Wasn't me" Anastasia said quickly, but you could tell it was a lie.
"Come on, let's take the pack out. I need to stretch my legs" Tony stood up. You nodded and grabbed your dishes, as well as the empty plates on the floor to bring over to the tray collection area, after putting Blue back on the floor. Bucky brought the cups over with a small smile and bent down to pick up Blue before taking your hand. Tony led the entire team out the doors at the cafeteria and into the sunlight.

As the entire team strolled outside, you tried to relax as Bucky held your hand, bringing it up to his lips every few minutes to pepper your knuckles with kisses. Edwin, Zora, Anastasia, and Blue all ran ahead and were playing with Cloud and Melody. Nat came over to you, breaking away from Bruce for a moment to touch your lower stomach and give a knowing smile before kissing you on the cheek. She then went back to Bruce and resumed holding his hand as Tony led the entire team out towards the picnic tables that were outside.
"It's not the same without you three at home" Peter spoke up as Tony finally decided on a spot to sit. The tables were scattered around, but somehow without saying anything the boys just went and started moving the tables as if on queue so that everyone could sit together. Bucky let go of your hand long enough to move a table with Steve before coming back to your side, since they had made quick work of it.
"We should be in the lab," Bruce whispered to you.
"We finally have our family back together" you whispered back quickly. "Maybe we can sneak in later and check on the serum" you relented slightly.
"No, none of that you two" Nat whipped her head back to look at you both. "It's family time"
"It's our fifth serum, this one might actually work" you replied, feeling a little hopeful.
"I think we should go back to your original notebook and look at your notes from when we started. Maybe if it doesn't work, there's something that we are missing" Bruce whispered, ignoring Nat's sudden pull on his hand.
"You two need to learn to leave work at work for a day. The lab assistants are taking care of everything in the lab, Fury made sure of it" Bucky informed you both quickly.
"We are so grateful all of you made your way out here, I can't say I'm not surprised" Tony spoke up from the head of the table, holding Pepper's hand. Happy sat beside him proudly, and patted him on the back.
"We miss our family being together," Clint shook his head. "How much longer are you going to take?"
"We need one success with the serum, and then we can work from the compound again" Tony gave a sad smile. "We just haven't been successful yet, but we are hopeful for the newest serum"
"Do we know what they did to these soldiers?" Vision asked curiously, not having been given the opportunity to look at the data yet.
"They bonded what is essentially a werewolf serum to their DNA from what it looks like. That's why they are able to shift so easily. We need more agents with the serum in their blood to understand how they did it to be honest. We have only one to study, and he's not really willing to work with us peacefully. Something we learned the hard way" Bruce cleared his throat before speaking.
"We heard about that" Wanda looked over a little miffed.
"I didn't even tell my mother yet" you put up your hands in your defense.
"Next time I don't want to find out from someone else" she sassed you slightly.
"Mama, uppy" Blue came trotting over and you happily turned in your seat to pick him up.
"How long are you all staying?" you asked, wanting to see Jasper, Snow and the pups quite badly.
"A couple days while your weapons are done being developed" Steve answered for everyone.
"We have only just finished their testing phase" you looked at Tony in shock. You had thought you were going to discuss it before releasing the weapons to the team.
"I had to make a call, they need them," Tony grimaced slightly. Bucky could tell you were visually upset and squeezed your hand that wasn't holding Blue.
"Mama, why is Papa so sad all the time?" Blue asked you, catching you off guard, and stopping your anger in its course.
"Papa is sad?" you asked, using your mind to talk to him, ignoring the sudden conversation picking up along the table about the weapons that the three of you had created to help the team, and how it may not be combat ready.
"Papa doesn't smile like when you are around mama" Blue gave a soft bark.
"I've been sad too. It's hard when we can't be together as a pack" you answered him, still using your mind. "But you want to know a secret?"
"What's the secret mama?" Blue asked, a little excited, his tail wagging quickly.
"We are going to be together as soon as possible, and this will just make us stronger as a pack" you leaned down and gave him a kiss on top of the head.
"But I want you at home now, mama," Blue whimpered.
"Soon, my love" you promised him, and he let out a small howl in response.
