Lovers to Parents (Bucky x reader)

Alpine

"How much chocolate again?" Steve asked as he started to fill one of the gift bags. The entire team had come to sit down to help, making your afternoon of making gift bags a solid thirty minutes at most. The pups were playing on the floor with the wolves, while all of you surrounded the coffee table.
"Just fill the bottom halfway, and then add the journal. Close up the bag, and add the light blue ribbon" Wanda showed him for the second time.
"We are going to have left over chocolate" you realized looking at how much was ordered. "And leftover journals" you added, biting your bottom lip.
"We could make extra gift bags, just in case" Tony offered quickly.
"Well, we did invite a lot of people and almost everyone said yes," Bucky reminded you.
"Did you order the flowers?" Pepper asked after a few moments of everyone seeming to be getting in the groove of filling the little bags.
"We did, we used the florist you suggested" you nodded, "Thank you again for letting us use the compound for the wedding itself"
"We are getting the room deep cleaned for the wedding, and bringing over chairs for the ceremony, and setting up the tables as well. There won't be much for everyone to do besides decorating" Tony shrugged.
"The center pieces are mainly the flowers again, with flameless candles, so there won't be much to do there" you sighed as you filled another bag with chocolate. You paused for a moment and saw that Nat took one of the chocolates and unwrapped it and quickly put it in her mouth. You giggled and followed her lead. You put the chocolate in your mouth and just sucked on it while you went back to filling some of the final few bags. You looked over and saw there was still a large box of chocolate that was left unopened, and the box you were working out of still had plenty left.
"Clint's kids are going to love the sugar high" Nat chuckled. Wanda and Pepper grabbed a chocolate each and started helping themselves since they were out of bags to fill.
"I'll start putting these in the storage room" Steve stood up and grabbed two handfuls of gift bags that were stuffed to the top. Sam quickly followed his lead, while everyone else besides Vision started munching on chocolate.
"Did you order enough bags?" Pepper asked a little worriedly since there were a few extra journals.
"I ordered a hundred, and we are expecting less than fifty people" you shrugged as the boys came in and out of the room. Bucky got up to help them while Blue came over and settled in your lap.
"Mama, I want to go play outside" he whined.
"Only if one of the older wolves will go with you" you kissed him on the tip of his nose.
"Come on pup, I'll take you" Cloud got up from his spot where he was cozy on the floor with Melody who was panting heavily.
"Dad, I want to go" Edwin went to Tony and whined.
"What's he want?" Tony asked you quickly.
"He wants to go play outside with Blue and Cloud" you shrugged.
"You can go buddy, but you need to listen to Cloud" Tony ruffled the fur on his head.
"Why do they get to go?" Anastasia whined and went to Nat.
"I've got an idea, how about we all go outside" you stood up, taking another chocolate.
"Yay!" Zora let out a happy howl.
"You can go my little dumpling" Nat gave Anastasia a soft kiss on top of her head. "But you have to listen," she warned.
'"I'll go get my boots on" you grabbed the full box of chocolates and struggled with it.
"Allow me" Vision came over and took it from you easily.
"I need to start working in the gym again" you huffed. "Thank you Vision"
"Where would you like it?" he asked gently.
"In storage with the rest of it, please" you smiled at him gratefully and he nodded, quickly leaving the room. You grabbed another chocolate and unwrapped it before you headed to go get your jacket and boots.

"Doll?" Bucky came outside in his boots and jacket, coming quickly down the stairs. "Where are you?" he called and you looked over your shoulder at him. You were playing in the woods with the pups who were tracking some small animals, but they weren't very stealthy about it. Blue chased a rabbit back down its hole and howled that it didn't want to play with him. You couldn't help but giggle.
"I'm right here" you called and waved to him. He quickly made his way over to you and wrapped his arms around you from behind, resting his head on your shoulder.
"You forgot your scarf" he pulled one out of his pocket and quickly wrapped it around your neck.
"We aren't going to be out for long," you sighed, as he tied the scarf together.
"Everyone is just helping themselves to the chocolates that are left over so I left it in the living room, but everything is put away" he updated you, running his hands up and down your sides as Blue picked up a new scent and let out a brief howl before he started following it.
"Sounds like a good idea" you leaned into him and nuzzled into his neck. He was radiating heat, and you just embraced it. You were slightly jealous he was so warm, where you were feeling a bit chilled. You heard a small meow and a bark from Blue and you turned quickly in Bucky's arms, your eyes studying the forest looking for him and the source of the meow.
"Blue" you called out with your mind.
"I found a cat mama," he said excitedly back.
"Don't you dare hurt that kitty" you said out loud and started towards Blue's direction. You heard a pitiful meow
"I just want to see it," he argued quickly.
"You'll scare it!" you called to him, and made your way towards his voice. When you found him there was a little white kitten hiding in the trunk of a tree and meowing, obviously scared, with Blue barking at it. "Hello little one" you reached out with your mind, and the kitten looked at you a little surprised. "What's your name?"
"Alpine" the kitten batted at Blue's nose that was getting dangerously close to him. "Please don't hurt me"
"We aren't going to hurt you. Where's your family?" you reached for him and he came to your hands while you pulled him close. He clearly needed a bath, and you were silently glad that the shadow wolf pack wasn't hunting anymore.
"They threw me away on the side of the road, so I came here" the small kitten started purring with the warmth from your body.
"Doll? What's going on?" Bucky came over, and once he saw the little kitten his face lit up like a child on Christmas. "Well hello there" he reached out with his right hand and started to pet Alpine.
"His name is Alpine, and his family just threw him away" you frowned.
"We are his family now, aren't we?" Bucky reached for Alpine and opened up his jacket to put him inside his coat.
"How about it, Alpine, come live with us" you cooed to him.
"I'm really hungry," Alpine whined.
"I'll go get you something to eat. The wolves won't hurt you, I promise" you saw he was looking at them with an air of distrust.
"He needs a bath, don't ya little fella?" Bucky cooed to the little white kitten. Alpine purred in response to Bucky petting him and scratching him under the chin. "We can keep him, right?" he asked you, his eyes lit up.
"He's really taking to you, of course" you smiled, leaning up and giving him a soft kiss on the cheek. "Come on you lot, we need to go inside. I have to run to the store" you called to the wolves.
"But mama!" Blue tried arguing.
"We are having so much fun," Anastasia pouted.
"Maybe when we get back, after supper time" you offered.
"Is it such a good idea for you to be going out, doll?" Bucky asked worriedly, still holding Alpine close to his body.
"We have no cat food, no litter... we need things for a cat" you gave a wan smile. "Come on grumpy, it's going to be fine" you assured him. "Do you mind us being your new family, Alpine?" you reached out with your mind.
"I like this human, what is his name?" Alpine asked.
"Papa" Blue barked.
"His name is Bucky" you whispered into his mind.
"I like papa" Alpine purred.
"You're a hit, James. He wants to call you papa" you cooed to Bucky, who grinned in response. The two of you started leading the wolves back to the compound, with Bucky excitedly taking two steps at a time to go inside. He was obviously excited to have a kitten that had chosen him. Once all the pups were inside you saw the team was still sitting in the living room waiting for their pups back.
"What do you have there?" Steve asked in surprise.
"Alpine" Bucky grinned in spite of himself.
"I'll let the animal team know there's a cat in the house now" Tony got on his phone and sent off a mass email.
"I'm headed to the pet store" you announced after closing the door.
"I'm coming, I need to pick up some more toys for Zora" Wanda got up quickly, giving Vision a kiss on the cheek.
"Doll, please be safe" Bucky looked at you imploringly.
"I will, give Alpine a quick bath for us. Introduce him to his new home. Cloud will be with you to help you talk to him" you gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. "I love you"
"I love you" he hummed, coming in for a quick kiss on the lips.
