Lovers to Parents (Bucky x reader)

A full meal

As soon as everyone was done with breakfast, you quickly started taking over the kitchen. You let the kitchen staff take care of the dishes while you started taking out the ribs, before focusing on starting the bread. You turned on your music on and started dancing around the kitchen while focusing on making the dough. You made the four loaves of dough, wanting to make sure there was plenty for everyone at suppertime. While the bread was rising, you went back to your suite and grabbed your clothes out of the laundry box that the delivery men brought last night, and separated your delicates, whites and darks. You quickly put in a load of the delicates and whites before heading back to the kitchen to take a look at what you had for fruits. You luckily had enough plums and apples for a few pies and started working on the fruit, taking time to punch the dough when it needed it. You could hear Bucky playing video games in the living room with Clint, Steve, Peter and Pietro. You knew the balcony door was open and had Cloud, Melody and Blue coming in and out while enjoying the outdoors. You could feel the cool breeze coming all the way into the kitchen, and enjoyed the coolness of the floor on your bare feet. You continued to prep the fruits, and work on the dough and before you knew it, it was lunch time. True to Tony's word, the bacon cheeseburger platter that you had been craving had been delivered, and you hummed happily as you ate your meal. You did end up sharing a bite of your fries and burger with Blue who whimpered and crawled up on your lap. You knew it was a bad idea for him to be getting used to the people food, but you didn't have it in your heart to say no to him. You knew this was already becoming a trend, and Bucky would have the firmer hand when it came to kids in the relationship.
During lunch, Bucky let you know that the architect had already gotten back to him and promised that they would have the revised plans back to him by the end of the day. He had also scheduled an appointment at the bank for tomorrow for you both to open a joint bank account. You felt a sense of pride as he told you these things, realizing that he really was looking forward to the future with you. You made sure to give him a kiss on the cheek before you went back to the suite to hang up your delicates and put the rest of the whites in the dryer, before putting the darks into the wash. When you came back, the bread was just about ready to be put into the oven, so you quickly greased the pans and put them in. You turned your attention to marinating the meats before going back to the pies. You wanted to make sure supper was perfect, and really enjoyed yourself as you worked at your task. You made Bucky's plum pie first, and put that in the second oven before you started at your caramel sauce for the apple pies. Your phone rang as you moved around the kitchen and you saw it was your mama. You quickly texted her that you would call her right back and finished with the caramel sauce before grabbing one of the stools to sit down. You knew you had a lot to say when you called her back. She came on the video call and you could see Billy in the background.
"Hey mama" you waved to her and Billy. "How are you two doing?"
"Relieved, you are finally away from Shield, that's for sure" your mama sat down on her favorite chair in her living room. "How is it being home?
"I'm finally back with my pack and my Bucky so I am happy" you beamed. "It's been hard the last month to be away for so long. I'm lucky I had Cloud with me"
"Cloud has always been a good wolf," she nodded approvingly. "What are you up to today? It looks like you are in the kitchen" she scrutinized the screen.
"I'm making a big meal for supper. I just have to put in the apple pies shortly, but I'm waiting for Bucky's plum pie to finish cooking first" you smiled. "I also have some bread baking," you added.
"You are going all out. It's good to see. What are you making for supper?" she looked at you curiously.
"I'm making ribs with asparagus for vegetables. Maybe some mashed potatoes while I'm at it" you pursed your lips.
"Sounds like you have a full day. How is the nausea?" she gave a knowing smile.
"Loki is back from Asgard, and he did a spell on me for the nausea. I haven't had it for a few days. It's been a godsend" you admitted. "I wasn't even making it through meals anymore"
"I remember those days. You're lucky you have such a great team"
"I am, I'm very blessed" you quickly agreed. "They are a great family"
"How is the wedding planning going?" she asked the question she was dying to have an answer for.
"Good, we decided on a venue, the colors, the flowers, and the honeymoon" you gave a bright smile.
"And?" She looked a little excited.
"It's going to be at the cabin mostly, and our flowers are going to be roses. We decided to go with dark blue and powder blue, but the flowers are going to be red and white" you smiled into the phone.
"I better be the one walking you down the aisle" she frowned a little.
"Yes mama, and we were going to ask uncle Brad to be the officiant" you nodded quickly.
"He would love that," she smiled happily. "When are you going to call and ask him?" she asked quickly.
"Probably in the next couple of days. I'm barely back in the compound, and we need to pick a date" you sighed softly.
"He will leave his mountains for that for sure" she seemed so confident. "He's getting more confident with his tablet when I call him. They still don't have cell service, but they were able to get the internet. He's also getting used to having a cell phone for when he's out in town. The kids keep calling to check on him. Now that they can talk to him all the time, they are really taking advantage" she gave a sly grin.
"Hard to believe a year ago he was a hermit" you giggled.
"Soren was a game changer" she smiled happily. "You showing up on his doorstep right after really helped him"
"I still blame Soren, he had it handled" you got up and went to check your bread and your pie. Bucky's pie was done so you pulled it out and put it on the cooling rack before putting in the apple pies. You came back to your phone where your mom was waiting patiently and you sat back down and looked at her expectantly. "Where's your news?" you asked.
"Billy and I have been doing our rounds in the community. There's a hurricane warning, but we are not in its path so we should be fine" she reassured you.
"What are your plans for today?" you asked after a moment.
"We were just headed out to play cards with the neighbor," she admitted with a soft smile.
"I'll let you go then, I'm going to get back to my cooking" you decided to end the call there. "I'll text you mama" you blew her a kiss.
"Send me pictures of the pack" she reminded you while blowing a kiss back. You both said your "I love you's" and disconnected from the call.
