Light, welcome me from the shadows,
Tempt me further from all which confines me,
Sing a sweet lullaby, bright flames around,
And tell me sweet lies, no matter what I see,
Though it burdens me so, to live in the dark,
I hope all comes to an end, perhaps on this day,
For it feels lonely in the cold, away from others,
When I had hoped and searched for another way,
But it never lasts, it only makes me seek it more,
Until the day I give up this world for something elsewhere,
Until then, I retreat back to a place I know,
I call it Nox, a prison self-imposed, built to ensnare,
All until the day I return, and feel the sadness melt away,
Greeting me occasionally like an old friend,
Though it pains me to say,
It too offers a familiar embrace, all to no end.
