Girl in my mirror,
Hidden behind a smile,
Cries all the time,
Away her feelings I must file,
For the world is harsh,
No mercy, it shall show,
So I set aside a time and place,
To cry, as that's all she knows,
For she finds the world,
It always weighs her down,
So I protect her as best I can,
To shield her from sight and sound,
So she can finally find peace,
As she knows what she wants,
To disappear into fiction,
And escape all that scares and haunts,
So rest now, I'll find a way,
To make this world better for you,
For I am you and you are me,
Its all I feel I am able to do.
