Heart in my pocket,
Skipping class and rocks,
Thrown into the water,
As I stand in bright red socks,
You stood there too,
Your eyes full of concern,
Tears have long fallen,
Waiting to speak my turn,
But I can only shout and scream,
Hating the world then,
Waiting for you to drop dead,
Forever wondering if and when,
And the world felt darker,
As you left and never returned,
Leaving my heart broken,
And a few lessons learned,
It begun to rain,
And I look back at that sorry scene,
As I felt my sadness weigh me down,
And wondering what it could mean.
