A hand I held,
That night he was away,
While you were there,
And he was with another,
We loved in secret,
While I hated my life,
And you complete it,
He never suspected a thing,
Until that fateful day,
And everything came tumbling down,
As you never wavered,
As housewives, we stayed beside,
Inside our four walls,
Built by him, for us,
And then the scrutiny came,
Their hateful eyes watch,
As we try to fight,
Until it all fell,
And it all faded away,
Not before I leapt,
Leapt into life, I did,
And you caught me,
Free from his watchful eyes,
Behind our closed door,
As keys unlocked that door,
Into our new life,
Together, until the very end.
