"I thought that you were angry with her , so won't talk to her" Ruturaj said to Karan after he got on the bus.

"I was, and I still am. In the coming days also i won't call or text her until she does first. I definitely don't want to look like a desperate guy, and moreover who knows that she wants to talk to me or not "

" Are you in your senses Karan. You know there is nothing like that , she likes you a lot.....i mean as a friend"

" Yes maybe I know, but I want to know it from her ."

"Don't act like a kid Karan. Did you see her face when you ignored her, she was almost in tears " Ruturaj said behaving as an angry brother.

"I saw ,that's why I just could not leave without meeting her . And did you see that smile on her face after seeing me, and that puppy face, she is too cute" Karan said with a bright smile on his face.

" Hmmmm...so you find her cute" Ruturaj said in a teasing tone.

"I find you also really cute Ruturaj....come" saying this Karan leaned towards him as if going to kiss him.

"Ewwww ...stay away you *** "

"And you better stay in your limits "

"Whatever " Ruturaj said, rolling his eyes.

these words kept ringing in Teja's head , for some reason she started feeling uneasy, as if something was going away.

' I just hope that Karan doesn't like...' Teja stopped midway. ' Are you serious Teja. What are you even thinking. She is Shruti, Dr Suman's daughter, your friend and most importantly a really nice girl. She has never treated you badly, and this is the way you think.' Teja mentally cursed herself for even thinking what she thought earlier.

' She is your friend, and she likes your other friend...yes Karan is your friend and it's time that you except it. Anyways , so as an ideal friend you must help Shruti out , and if not that, you should surely not wish for something negative. Remember Teja you are a nice person, act like one too' Teja said to herself.

After all , the day had come when the matches were about to start. It was a series of three matches of ODIs, T20s and test .

India won the first two matches of the ODIs series , but lost the third match with a huge margin. Karan scored 37,44 and 14 in the respective matches. He was disappointed. But started preparing for the coming matches.

Neither Karan nor Teja called each other. Though Teja messaged him 'congratulations' and
' don't worry, you will do good in the next match'
after the respective matches, but she didn't call him . While Karan was adamant on his decision of calling Teja only after she herself calls him first.

The T20 matches were even worse for Karan, where he didn't even score a two digit number in a single match. Though India somehow managed to win the series.

As usual Karan started getting trolled on social media. His haters didn't leave even a single chance to prove how bad of a cricketer he was , and that he should be dropped from the team for the test matches. This trolls made things even more difficult for Karan, on one side he was not able to get what suddenly went wrong with his game and these trolls demotivated him more . He even started thinking that it will be better for the team if he is dropped.

During this time after every bad match Karan had Teja used to send him memes, songs or chat with him on some random topic. But after the third match she didn't send him anything.
' maybe she lost faith in me too ' Karan thought after not receiving any message from Teja.

But then his phone rang.
*Dr Tejasswi* it showed,

"Hi Karan "

"Hi Teja, you know I used to think that outgoing is not available in your phone, like you never call." Karan said and laughed a little at the end.

"Very funny"

"So , why did you call?"

"As if you don't know"

" To criticize me , or to sympathize me"

"How can someone be so wrong Mr Kundrra. I called you because I knew that you were missing me."

"You got to know this so soon Dr Tejasswi, so fast." Karan said and Teja chuckled.

"But on a serious note, I called you to tell you a story, this story is really special to me, so consider yourself lucky."

Karan kept quiet, wondering what was Teja going to tell him .

"You know when I was preparing for my entrance exam I used to give some mock tests. The first test I gave with literally no preparation, so obviously I got low marks, but for the next test I studied really hard so I got nice marks , that motivated me a lot , so with full force I started studying for the next test , but somehow I got really low marks , like even worse than the one I got in my first test without preparation, can you imagine.... then my interest in studying went a downhill, and so did my scores, but then all of a sudden I got like super amazing marks , without preparing much, only God knows how.

The motive behind me telling you this is just to tell you that, results are not always proportional to the efforts or hardwork we do. Results depends on many other factors too, which are majorly not under our control, the only thing we can do is just work hard and nothing else. The runs you are scoring lately does not define who you are , it does not define Karan Kundrra.

I know you are in this field from the past ten years and have seen low phases too and might know how to deal with such things far more better than me , but as a friend I just wanted to tell you that there's a long way to go Kundrii, do not doubt yourself ever okay."

Karan kept listening to her and did not even notice when his eyes got teary. He at that point really needed someone to say these things to him , and Teja did that for him .

"Karan, Karan are you listening, don't tell me that this long ass speach I gave now just went into vain and you didn't even listen to a single word, Karan"

Karan chuckled and said" Thank you Teja"

"You will do good Karan, " Teja said in a soft voice.
"And also now you can call me whenever you want to ,as I called you first this time"

"Huh ... what.....how did you know?"

"You are such a kid Karan, seriously "

"Wait, but how"

"Byeeee , talk to you later and All the best"

"Bye"

A lot of gyaan in this update, but this is how I thought the story to be.
As one of the main character is a cricketer i just wanted to highlight that being a cricketer is not a cake walk .
And what better day for the update, it's 5th of Nov , Virat's bday ❤️

Anyways I hope that you are liking the story, though mujhe laga nhi tha ki koi ise padhega 😂
