The next day , obviously Teja and Karan slept past their normal time.
Teja infact woke up not from her continuous alarms but by the knock on her door.

She found it hard to open her eyes , so she tried getting up with her eyes closed, but found herself falling back on the bed due to the weight she felt around her waist.

This made Teja open her eyes instantly and found a literal ' dhai kilo ka hath ' on her stomach.

" Karan, move your hand " Teja groaned.

Karan groaned back but nonetheless moved his hand and turned to the other side.

As Teja opened the door she found her bhabhi slyly trying to take a look of her bedroom behind her.

" Bhabhi, bad manners " she said covering the view. " Did I ever behave like this with you and Bhai ." She added in her sleepy voice.

" Yes " Niti said " This is how you behaved in the morning after our first night. "

Teja remembered it and felt ashamed and said, " sorry, but are you taking your revenge now. "

" It won't be a revenge until yesterday was your first night too " Niti said with a teasing smile . " So was it ?" She further asked.

" Oh God , bhabhi." Teja exclaimed with embarrassment.

" You look quite tired too" Niti teased more.

" Please stop it ." Teja cried. " What do you want ? "

Niti chuckled seeing the state she put Teja in .

"Nothing, I just came to wake you up cause it's getting late. Also the breakfast is ready. "

" Wake him up too ." Niti said at the end and left smiling.

Karan was still sleeping when Teja came after taking a bath.

" Karan, go get ready." Teja said.
Karan didn't budge.

" Get up Karan " she said again a bit loudly.

" I couldn't sleep because of your alarms , atleast let me sleep now." He mumbled as he pulled the duvet over his head.

" Fine." Teja said coldly and left .

At the dinning table Tarun and Niti greeted her. She nodded curtly and took a seat.

She was already feeling grumpy because of less sleep and Karan not listening to her annoyed her more.
It was a petty thing to be angry about, she knew , but at the same time she could not help the way she felt.

To make herself feel better, before starting her breakfast she closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths.

As she opened her eyes feeling a lot better than before, she found Tarun and Niti staring at her with a questioning look.

" What?" She asked.

" Nothing " Tarun said and resumed his eating.
" I feel it's a great idea to meditate at the breakfast table. Infact there's no better place than this to..." He stopped . Teja was throwing death glares at him .

At the same time Karan walked through the hallway and joined them on the table. " Good morning bhaiya, good morning bhabhi." He said with a smile.

" What are you doing here ?" Tarun asked without wasting a second.

" Huh ?" Karan looked at Teja, then Niti and then back at Tarun , but he still couldn't understand what to say.

" He came to meet me , yesterday. Mom knows about it ." Teja answered on Karan's behalf.

" Can he not answer on his own."

" You scare him off . "

" Are you scared of me?" Tarun asked Karan.

"Yes....I mean no. Umm...No , I just respect..."

"You should be scared." Tarun said coldly , took the last sip of his coffee and left .

" I fail to even recognise him sometimes."  Niti said and shook her head in disbelief.

Teja and Karan chuckled.

After their breakfast when Teja got ready to go to the hospital, Karan said to her " I travelled all night just to spend some time with you , just saying. "

Teja didn't take his comment lightly, because it was true that he took all those efforts just for her and it was only fair if she did the same for him.

But her work commitments were also equally important. So she called in the hospital, checked her schedule, saw if their were any important cases and when she found none , she applied for an off day which got granted soon.

With this good news when she re-entered  her room , she saw Karan running from one corner to another with his laptop in his hand.

He saw her and asked, "where should I sit for the zoom meeting? "

Teja opened the curtains adjusted the chair and coffee table in the near corner and said "here."

" Wait meeting? You are joining a meeting after making me take a leave."

" You actually took a leave ? That's great. Just wait for an hour and then we can.."

"No , I am going to the hospital."

"Teju please, just an hour. Please. "

"Only an hour. Not a minute more." Teja said pointing a finger towards him.

"Not a minute more. "

As Teja wondered how to past this one hour , she got reminded of the picture she took yesterday night of Yash in the police station , so without wasting any time she shared it in her friends group.

In a minute her phone rang. It was a group video call.

"So this is why he called us yesterday" Ananya said " he didn't tell me when I asked him today. "

" Bro got violent it seems." Harsh said. "You look as if you applied eye shadow on your lower eyelid."

Teja and Ananya laughed and Yash rolled his eyes.

"What got you in a fight Yash ?" Ananya asked.

"Anu before that, do you know who is Yash dating?" Teja asked. She was almost sure that Ananya knew about Yash and Shruti, and she was the only one unaware of it.

"He isn't dating anyone, I guess they broke up . Right ?" Ananya said.
Yash nodded.

"What was her name?" Teja asked with urgency.

"Some, mandecha ...Teera Mandecha . She is a model I guess and he met her on a dating app. "

"Kids these days" Harsh said with a sigh "Dating apps are just scam ."

" How do you know that?" Ananya and Yash asked at once.

*Through friends, obviously."

Teja stayed silent.

From what happened yesterday she thought that Shruti was the girl who Yash dated even in India. And yesterday they were just having a bad day in their relationship.

Also she just could not misinterpret the emotions she saw in their eyes for each other. Could she ?

"Yash are you free for a while, I wanted to talk ?" Teja said after Yash narrated yesterday's incident to the other two while addressing Shruti and one of his acquaintance.

"Yeah" He said , knowing what Teja wanted to talk about.
