"Guys I have a news to share" Karan said happily to his parents as they all sat to have their dinner.

"You look happy. It is definitely a good news." His mother said.

"It is "

"You are in the squad for the world cup ." His father guessed.

"No. They are yet to release the list."

"Signed some contract with a big brand ". His mother guessed

"Noo. It is not career related. "

"You are planning to buy a new house." His father said with full confidence.

"Let it be. You both are guessing it all wrong. So the news is that.... I am in a relationship."

His parents face suddenly fell . They stared at him blankly and then at each other.

"What happened. Are you guys not happy." He asked being confused. He was very sure that his parents will be really pleased by this news but he could not find even a speck of happiness on their faces.

"Do you really think that it is a good decision Karan." His father asked.

"Yes. Ofcourse. I can't understand what problem do you guys have with it."

"I understand Karan that you are a celebrity and you would want someone to match your public standing, but son when it comes to spending your entire life with someone, you should take those decisions emotionally and not practically." His father said.

"Dad sorry , though I totally understand what you are saying, I don't really understand how it fits this situation right now. And I am telling you, I cannot find someone better than her to spend my life with."

"You think that you cannot find anyone better, but you definitely can." His mother said "Just look around, you have such amazing people around you. "

"What !"

"I know that sometimes we tend to ignore what we actually have and chase something superficial, but you need to know this Karan that we should not take anything or for that matter, anyone for granted.

The fame , the popularity, the superficial beauty...it will all fade away one day , and in days like these you will need a person who stands by you and most importantly brings you peace." His father said.

"She brings me peace, and she has stood by my side in my difficult times. And who will know that better than you guys, you saw it yourself."

His parents frowned.

"I really thought that you will be happy, like really really happy. You guys always liked her . I don't know why you both are reacting like this."

He took a deep breath and continued "But though your acceptance matters to me a lot , still I won't leave her . I love Teja , and I will spend the rest of my life with her only. That's final."

"Teja ?" His mother questioned "You were talking about Teja all this while."

"Who else then" he shrugged.

"We thought you were talking about that actor Riya . We read a few articles."

Karan facepalmed and said, "And you believed it."

"We didn't find a reason to not believe it ." His mother said.

"You could have asked me Mom."

"You were not talking to us." His father said instantly.

"Dad I'm sorry about that. But you really think I could like that actor."

"I don't know. You did date an actor earlier too , we could not believe that either.
No I don't mean to say that actors are bad , but you were just choosing the wrong people. "

"Dad , that was seven years back. I was really young. I got to know myself better over these years, and now I know what's best for me and it's her, Dr Tejaswi Prakash."

"Ofcourse we know that too" His mother said "Thank God that you took this decision. So happy for you."

"Yes , Good decision Karan." His father said.

"Now this feels normal. Otherwise it felt like I was in some parallel universe where my parents despise Teja . "

His mother lightly hit him on his shoulder and said, "you scared us today. And also if none of those dating rumours are true , why didn't you correct them."

"Mom I talked with my pr team and they suggested to leave that topic as it is , and even I didn't pay much attention because of how unserious it was. "

"But it has become a big topic now." His father said  , "and also you are now in a relationship with Teja so such rumours spreading around feel disrespectful towards her."

"She is now your responsibility, you need to take care of her, and give her the respect that she totally deserves." His father continued.

"Yes dad, I will. I will talk to my pr team and clear out the rumours" Karan said with assuring his parents.

"Does her family know about your relationship." His mother asked.

"Yes , she told them today."

"And?"

"They are fine with it. Her mom even invited us to their house to talk."

"That's great then. We should do that immediately. Even you are a bit free now otherwise in a month you will again fly away for your tour."

"Okay." Karan said with a smile. A smile of contentment, finally everything was falling in place, everything felt perfect.

"I need to inform Kirti too." He said and called her.

Karan's mother snatched his phone as soon as Kirti picked up the call and told her the news.

"Wow, that's great." She said with delight . "So he finally got the guts to ask her out."

"You knew about this?" His mother asked.

"Yes, we talked about it. But even without that, wasn't it obvious that your son liked his doctor a lot."

"It surely was but I didn't say anything as I didn't want to overstep in his personal matter. "

"I can understand, afterall he is going to turn 30 soon." Kirti said teasing

"Yes, people do age di . No need of reminding me that every single day. "

"Yes , you are getting old, and now as you have decided who you want to be with for the rest of your life, it's the perfect time for you to get married." Kirti said.

"Absolutely. So please you and jiju can join us in our meeting with my future in laws." He said with a smirk.

"I will be there with my baby brother, don't worry. "
