Karan stormed into his house and his mom and sister gasped, who were still sitting in the living room watching a show.

"So what did she say?" Kirti asked teasingly not knowing how angry Karan was.

"She wants an arrange marriage." Karan said almost shouting and went inside his room.

Meanwhile, Karan's mom who was sitting there was completely clueless.

"What's going on Kirti" his mom asked

"How will I know"

"He looks angry. Did he tell you anything."

"No mom I don't know anything, but don't worry I will talk to him."

"Today itself." Karan's mom declared.

"Okay, I will. But after half an hour, he needs time to cool down first."

"Fine, I am going to sleep. If it's anything serious wake me up okay."

"Mom don't worry you go and sleep I will look after him. Good night." Kirti said.

There at Teja's house, Teja was taken aback by the way Karan behaved.

' He got so annoyed just because I am ready for arrange marriage. ' Teja thought.
' Why will he have a problem if I do an arrange marriage. I'm quite sure now that I am just a friend to him , yes, maybe the closest one, but still a friend. If he fells anything more, he would have said it in the beginning, but he didn't. '

Teja was in a dilemma, at one hand she wanted to lead a simple life , marry a guy her family selects for her and then live in peace. But on the other hand she was falling for a cricketer, though she was not ready to accept it.

So when the thought crossed her mind that Karan might not feel for her the way she thought he does rather than being happy, she felt sadness.

' This is what you wanted, why are you feeling this way now? ' Teja questioned herself.
' No , I am happy, extremely happy ' she lied.

After making her heart believe that she was really happy, Teja again started thinking about Karan, 

' He was fuming with anger when he left, I just hope that he reached home safely.'

* knock *

"Can I come in" Kirti said and peeked inside Karan's room.

He was standing in his balcony when he heard the knock . He saw Kirti standing at the door and asked her to come inside.

Kirti went and stood beside him .
After waiting for a few minutes in a hope that Karan will speak up, Kirti said,  "Speak up."

Karan who was till now looking aimlessly at the outside, sighed, and told Kirti everything.

From the reason why he went to meet Teja that late, what did he say to her, about Teja's thoughts on relationships and how she wanted an arrange marriage for her, and lastly the arrgument they had .

Kirti heard it all patiently and then said,  "Teja is not wrong if she wants her life a certain way."

"You know it's not about that di" Karan sighed. "It's like she is ready to marry some random guy which she will barely know, she is ready to adjust there, but when we talk about love marriage or relationships she just wants it to be perfect, no adjustments at all, but that's not how things work right."

"You expect her to take the harder route when she can clearly take an easier route. Arrange marriage is easy, it feels secure. Your family has made a decision and you know that they will always choose the best for you. While in a love marriage it all comes on you, if it fails you are wholely responsible.

And most importantly, with Teja, she is still single, did you ask her out..no..so why will she think of love marriage." Kirti said

"Ask her out" Karan said and chuckled sadly, "I am sure she would have rejected me if I did that."

"Karan Kundrra scared that a girl might reject him. This doesn't feel real."

"That's what Teja has done to me. She is unreal. I'm sure if I would have behaved with some other girl the way I do with Teja, that girl would have already proposed me. "

Kirti chuckled.

" I don't know is she really this naive or she just doesn't want to acknowledge it. Isn't it on my face that I like her."

"Hmm...so what are you going to do next, being courageous and confessing or forgetting her."

"For the time being I can not imagine confessing to her, I am just too scared to do that and the second one is not even an option, I know that I can't forget her."

Karan's phone pinged with Teja's message.

"I hope you reached home safely.
Call me whenever you feel like...." the message read.

Karan smiled, showed Kirti the message and said, 
"How can I even forget this girl.
Ahhh, this girl irritates the hell out of me. I was supposed to be angry with her, but she won't let me do that."

Kirti smiled, till now she felt that Karan liked Teja, but now she knew that her brother was deeply fallen.

Karan replied back to Teja and said to Kirti,
" IPL is just half a month away, I think that I should concentrate there than anywhere else." He sighed.

"Are you sure about it."

"Yes. "

" Reached home.
I will call you tomorrow after the practice." Teja read Karan's reply.

' So you are not going to talk to me until tomorrow evening. Nice '  Teja thought sadly.

The next day when Karan called Teja he didn't say anything about the arrgument they had. He talked casually at the same time kept the talks small.

The next week went in the same manner, Teja and Karan used to talk, but something changed. There were awkward silences and calculated words.

Karan was always in a hurry to end the call, and it did not go unnoticed by Teja.

Karan was not behaving as he used to do earlier and it made Teja sad. More than the reason why he was behaving like that Teja was more worried about the way things were changing between them.

It was always Teja who tried to distance herself, but for the first time she was at the receiving end, and it felt horrible.

Karan was missing Teja a lot, he became a bit silent and used to spend most of his time practicing.

For Karan, distancing himself from Teja was necessary as he knew that the more he stayed with her , the more difficult it will get for him to hide his feelings.
Though Karan was still upset with the way Teja thought about relationships.

" I hope you are free tomorrow, I was planning of having breakfast together." 
Teja's phone pinged with the message.
