"Huh?"

"Teja you know, you are one of the best..no, the best person I have ever met. I have never been this happy with any of my friends. So you are not just a normal friend, you are different, you are special, you are...you are the closest to me ." Karan said.

Karan then realised that the distance between them was pretty less so he moved away and with a smile said,

"And therefore I wanted my sister to meet you. You know how close I'm to her , so I wanted the girls who I'm closest to, to meet each other."

Teja could not move for the next few seconds. Firstly because of the way Karan was looking at her, so lovingly and secondly because of the things he was saying.

She was more than happy to hear that she was someone special in his life, but at the same time was scared of the fact that Karan might say something which she didn't want to hear.

When Karan stopped talking the only thing she could speak was,

"That's it."

"What more do you want to hear." Karan said teasingly.

He wanted to say a lot more but also wanted to give Teja her time to process what was happening. He wanted to talk to her slowly but was determined to tell her how he felt that day itself.

"Thank God!"  Teja sighed with relief.

"No I don't want to hear anything more. You take a seat , I will make coffee for both of us." Teja said and went into the kitchen.

' Did she just say thank God ' Karan thought ' But why?.'

Teja came back after a few minutes with two cups of coffee. She gave Karan his cup of coffee and then showed him a few outfit pictures on her phone.

"Karan what should I wear, a saree or a dress. "

"Based on the pics I have seen of you in a saree , I think that saree suits you a lot so I think you should go with it."

"Even my mom was saying the same, but I don't want to wear it."

"Why? You look really good in a saree. And even aunty is saying the same, so I think you should atleast listen to her."

"Firstly saree is uncomfortable and secondly the reason why my mom wants me to wear a saree is different."

"And what is it."

"Basically me wearing a saree will mean making it clear to the world that this girl is eligible for marriage so you can send your proposals if interested." Teja said in a tone as if she was making an announcement.

Karan laughed and said, "you mean arrange marriage."

"Yeah" Teja said joining Karan in his laugh.

"Oh God, unbelievable."

"Exactly, why do I have to wear a saree for this, as if I will not be visible in a dress. If anyone is interested, looking at me they will anyhow send the proposal."

Karan who was laughing whole heartedly till now suddenly stopped. "You are okay with arrange marriage." Karan asked and frowned.

"What do you mean, that's how things are supposed to happen for me."

Karan was shocked . Since the time he had known Teja, he knew that Teja was a romantic. From romantic movies, series , novels, she loved them all. For a girl like her who loved love so much it was quite surprising to know that she was okay with marrying someone she might not be in love with .

"Don't you want your love story Teja. Don't you want a Bunny for yourself. "

"Bunny milne ke liye mera Naina hona zaroori hai, aur mein Naina nhi Aditi hoon." Teja said and smiled sadly.

"Teja you are not serious right."

"I'm Karan, I'm. Arrange marriage was always my plan. Yeah I get it, I am a hopeless romantic and I love love stories, but I guess the reason why I love them so much is because I know that this will never happen to me in real life.
So I just get happy seeing the characters fall in love ."

"Why are you thinking so negatively Teja. I.."

Teja interupted and said, " It's not about being negative Karan, it about being practical.

Love is beautiful, but it's rare .
I always say that Anu is really lucky to have found the love of her life, but the journey till there was not easy. She has been through worst in her previous relationship without any of them being at fault. Things just doesn't work out even with the best person. It's not easy."

"Oh so this is the reason why you are not interested in relationships. You are scared of failing in a relationship." Karan scowled .

"Yes" Teja said sternly. "I don't want to fail in a relationship. Who wants to.

Also, I have troubled my mom a lot with my career choices. When everyone used to o say that let her do some normal graduation and get her married, my mom was there to support me. She could have easily gotten me married after my MBBS but she didn't, as she knew that I wanted to complete my post graduation.

As every normal mother she now wants to see me settled. So I will, I will get married to a person she selects for me."

"It's not about that Teja." Karan said with frustration.

"Let me complete Karan" , Teja snapped.

"My mom is not against love marriage, she just wants my happiness. But for love marriage at first I need to have a guy in my life whom I love.

Even I am not against relationships. I just want to be in a relationship with the person who I know is ...The One. With the person without whom my life would be fucked up.

Surety that this is the person with whom I will eventually get married to and our marriage will stay forever, then I will get into a relationship.
But sadly I don't have someone like that in my life right now." Teja said.

"You don't have someone like that?" Karan asked with hurt in his voice.

"I can't see him , can you."

"No, I can't." Karan said in a low voice. "Anyways I think I should leave. "

Karan got up from the couch and moved towards the main door.

"Karan, why are you behaving like this. Why are you so pissed off."

"Because you are not making sense." Karan glared. "I have always known you as a sensible girl and today you are not behaving like one."

"Just because I am okay with arrange marriage." Teja asked with disbelief.

"No. Teja you won't get it."

"Atleast try to explain Karan." Teja said with her voice cracking.

"Teja, I think we should talk later. I will call you okay. Bye , take care." Karan said and left the house.
