Wednesday,
9:30pm....

The banquet hall was filled with people. From cricketers with their families, Bollywood celebrities, politicians, everyone was present there to bless the newly married couple.

Karan reached the place and met with a few people he knew. Soon he spotted Ruturaj and Sayli so he went and stood with them.

"How are you Karan. I heard that you were on a vacation, how was it." Sayli asked.

"Wonderful, the places I travelled to were heavenly."

"I thought that you will come with Teja, but it looks like you came alone ." Ruturaj said.

"Umm..no , she's not with me."

"She hasn't reached yet. Do you have any idea, when will she reach."

"No. "

"Call her and ask her about her whereabouts. "

"Even you can do that."

"Yes I can, but I thought her contact might be on your speed dial so it will be easier for you." Ruturaj teased and laughed.

"Such an amazing sense of humour. I'm dead." Karan said sarcastically.

"I know. Now call her, fast."

"I am not going to do that, if you want to, you can."

"No need, she's here." Sayli said and smiled at Teja.

Karan's back was towards Teja, so he turned to see her.

Teja was wearing a black saree with sleeves blouse, hair tied in a messy bun and a few accessories. She was looking the prettiest and her beauty turned heads.

"Close your mouth" Ruturaj whispered in Karan's ear who was just mesmerized by the girl infront of him.

Ruturaj's words brought Karan out of the trance and he quickly composed himself.

"You are looking gorgeous" Sayli said and hugged Teja.

"Truly, now I know what took you so long." Ruturaj said.

"Not really. I had my shift till 8 in the hospital, so.." Teja said and shrugged her shoulders.

"Karan do you want to say something" Ruturaj said looking at him.

"Huh?"

"That she is looking good" Ruturaj murmured in his ears.

"Yeah, you are looking good." Karan said with a small smile which didn't last too long. He was trying to stay distant, because more the closeness with Teja more the difficulty to control his feelings.

Teja noticed his behaviour and mouthed a small thanks.

Teja was waiting for this day. She had a lot of things to say to Karan but he was not letting her get to him. Talking seemed too far as he was not even making an eye contact with her.

"So should we go on the stage now." Sayli said and everyone agreed.

As they reached the stairs of the stage Karan offered his hand to Teja which she happily took. They had an eye contact and both climbed up the stairs.

They congratulated the couple and were talking about something when a voice interupted them.

"Hi" a boy said and forwarded his hand to Teja for a handshake.

"Hi" Teja said being clueless about who this person was and shook hands with him .

"He is my cousin, Raj " Rishab's wife said.
