Jamey's POV

Someone banged on the door.

I rolled over in bed, trying to ignore it, praying they'd go away.

They didn't, as they pounded on the door again.

"Jesus," I mumbled, climbing out of bed.

I grabbed my tee shirt and pulled it on.

Whoever was at the door didn't want to see me in my briefs.

"What?" I yanked the door open mid-knock.

Christopher stood before me with Joslyn in his arms, slumped over.

"Chris? Is that Joslyn?" I asked, alarmed.

"Yes," Christopher replied.

He dragged Joslyn in and over to the couch.

Christopher propped her on the couch.

"Is she okay?" I asked.

"Yeah, she's extremely intoxicated, but she's okay. I didn't know where else to bring her," Christopher explained.

"Why didn't you take her home?" I asked.

I knew that Joslyn had disappeared four days ago.

Dad was going crazy with panic and having to take care of Molly.

"I don't want to be tied into this," Christopher said.

"Has she been with you the whole time?" I asked.

Christopher didn't answer at first.

"Chris, my dad has been a mess! Joslyn left four days ago. So she's been with you this whole time?"

Christopher shrugged.

"Pretty much. Joslyn called me up and asked if I wanted to party. I took Jos back to her car two days ago and went home to sleep it off. When I woke up, my parents told me she was missing. I managed to slip out and find her, but she's in no condition to go home."

"So you bought her here?" I demanded.

"I didn't know where else to go."

Christopher ran his hands through his hair.

"Look, let her sleep it off for a few hours, and then call Riker and tell him she showed up on your doorstep. Then, no one will know the difference, and everyone will be happy," Christopher said.

"Dammit, Chris! She left Molly with Riker and didn't come home. So he's going to ask questions. A lot of questions," I said.

"Jos won't remember a thing. But, if she does, she'll cover for me. Please, Jamey?"

"Do you have Riker's car?"

"I parked it up around the corner," Christopher said.

I sighed.

"Thanks, Jamey," Christopher said. "I owe you one."

I shook my head as Christopher left.

What the fuck was Christopher thinking?

What the fuck was Joslyn thinking?

Chris is somewhat understandable. Sure, he's older than us, but he's single, works, and has zero responsibilities.

Joslyn is a mother of a newborn baby.

I couldn't wrap my head around it at all.

Every fiber in my body wanted to call dad and tell him that Chris had just dropped Joslyn off, but I didn't.
