Sean POV

I pulled into Ross' house and parked my car. I tried texting Janis, but she didn't answer. My parent's house took longer than I expected. I hope she's all right.

Did Wesley show up?

I didn't have much information on Wesley, just what Janis told me. Her first everything, including heartbreak. Riker has told me some things, too. Riker didn't like Wesley. He said to me that much. He thought Wesley was a scrawny punk and Janis could do better. She did do better because she met you. Riker's exact words.

Jamey, Ross, and Rocky didn't say much about Wesley.

It didn't matter. I was with Janis now.

It took a long time for her to warm up to me and even longer for her to agree to go out with me. I was persistent in a patient way.

Janis was everything I ever wanted in a girl. She was smart, sexy, fun. She knew how to have a good time! I fell in love with her the moment I saw her.

It didn't make things easier for me. Janis would barely say hello to me that first year she taught at school. The second year, she was a little more friendly. It was the year's holiday show when she started talking to me.

We were assigned a musical number with her class and had to create something original and cute.

I remember spending many evenings with her at school, bouncing ideas off each other. When Friday night came along, and the janitor said we couldn't stay at the school, I took her out for pizza and a beer. We sat there for hours talking and devised an excellent act for the students.

The show went off without a hitch, and I asked Janis out on a date. I thought she'd turn me down, but she surprised us and said yes.

It was the third date that she told me about Wesley. I don't think she would have if the wine hadn't been so delicious.

Wesley.

Janis told me how they met, how she kissed him on an impulse, how they hung out together and fell in love. She had it hard for him. I wished Janis would talk about me that night like she did about Wesley. I wanted her to love me as much as she loved him.

That would never happen. You only fell in love like that once, but she continued to date me. I knew she cared for me, just not as much as I cared for her. I was okay with that. I'd do anything for Janis, including attending Jam Night and meeting the infamous Wesley.

I got out of my car and slowly went to the music hall.

As I was walking, this guy was standing at his trunk. He was unloading his equipment and had more equipment than his hands.

"Do you need help?"

"That would be great," The guy said, handing me his amp.

I took a guitar case from him, too. He slammed his trunk close.

"You have a lot of equipment," I said.

"Yeah, I'm not sure what I want to play," He said.

"Aren't you a little late to the game? Everyone else is here," I pointed out.

"Yeah, I suppose so... I haven't been to a Jam Night in a while," he said.

I nodded, staring at this guy. He was tall and lean. He had longish strawberry blonde hair and wild blue eyes that shone on the moon.

"I'm honestly not here to play. I'm here to see someone," He said.

"Yeah?"

"Yeah, it's been a while. I'm not sure how it will go over," He said.
