Janis POV

I lay in my old bed at Riker's house a month later. Cooper curled up by my feet. I was going crazy with boredom. My body started to heal, and the bruises began to fade. My head was a different story.

Riker showed up the following day as promised and took me to the doctor, where they did a CAT scan on my head.

I suffered a severe concussion, worse than the one I had when that guy attacked me and Joslyn. I was on strict bed rest without a phone, computer, TV, music, or bright lights.

For the first two weeks, I slept a lot. Now, I was starting to go crazy.

I hadn't seen Wesley since I left his apartment that morning. I hadn't seen anyone except for Riker, really. People visited me, Grandma and Grandpa, Rocky, Ross, Aunt Rydel, Aunt Sabrina, Uncle Zack, and Uncle Tristan. Even Jamey came by after he got out of the hospital, but not Wesley.

I was a little hurt. After our shower and shared intimacy, I thought Wesley would surely come to see me. I was hurt and angry that he didn't.

It was jam night, and I wanted to go.

"You can't go. You have a concussion," Riker argued.

"It's getting better. I haven't had a headache in two days," I said. "Please, Riker? I can't sit here another minute! I will kill myself because of boredom!"

"Don't be so dramatic! We can try it.

"Yay!" I exclaimed.

"But if your head starts to hurt, you are coming straight home," He said.

"Deal," I said, going to my room to prepare.

I took my time getting ready and decided to wear a long black skirt and a crop top that hung off one shoulder. I showered and took my time getting ready.

I thought of Wesley, as I often did while showering. I couldn't help it; I could still feel his hands on my body every time I got in.

I hoped he would be there tonight.

At eight o'clock, Riker and I left.

I sat at a table in a back corner, trying to escape the noise and people and ignoring the pounding in my head.

This was a mistake. I'd never tell Riker that, but I shouldn't have come. I was stuck. I couldn't drive, and Riker, Ross, and Rocky were playing.

"You're here!"

I turned and saw Wesley standing in front of me. My heart skipped a beat. I was so happy to see him, even if he didn't come and visit me.

"Hi," I said.

Wesley surprised me with a hug. I closed my eyes and tried to concentrate on being in his arms.

"How ya feeling?" He asked, slightly pulling away to look at me. "You're in pain."

How did he know?

"My head hurts," I admitted.

"Do you want me to take you home?" He asked concerned.

"Yes, " I said.

He took my hand, and we left.

"You got a new car?" I asked.

"No, it's a rental. My car is in the shop getting fixed," Wesley said and started to drive.

"How've you been?" I asked.

"Okay, I..."

"Where have you been?" I asked, cutting him off.

Wesley looked at me and then back at the road.
