Wesley's POV
I waited at the airport down by baggage claim. Janis's flight landed twenty minutes ago, and she should be coming soon.
I couldn't wait to see her.
I didn't think she would come, especially after she called and told me about Jamey and said she wasn't coming.
But Ross and Rocky convinced her to come, solemnly promising to call immediately if anything changed.
I looked up and saw her descending the escalator.
My breath caught in my throat. Janis looked stunning. I didn't realize how much I missed her until I saw her.
I walked over to the escalator and grabbed her as soon as she stepped off.
I wrapped my arms around her petite frame, pulling her as close as possible without hurting her.
Janis smelled like heaven, a mixture of jasmine, vanilla, and coffee.
"Hi," I whispered in her ear.
"Hi," she said back.
I pulled away to study her beautiful face. Brushing stray hairs from her eyes, I cupped her face.
She looked tired.
I know she was at the hospital late and got up early this morning.
I touched my lips to hers softly. Janis' whole body went soft, and she leaned in towards me.
I chuckled to myself.
It amazed me how Janis always stood tall until we kissed, and then her body went soft as if it was sighing with pleasure. I found it odd in an amusingly hot way.
Slowly she pulled away and gazed up at me.
I gently caressed her face, letting my hand drop to her shoulder.
"How was your flight?"
"It was okay. I'm tired," Janis said.
"Let's grab your bag," I said.
Taking her hand, we went to the baggage carousel.
It didn't take long for Janis to spot her suitcase. I grabbed it and threw my arm around her shoulder as we headed to the airport parking lot.
"Any word on Jamey?"
Janis shook her head.
"Are you okay?" I asked, concerned.
She was worried about her brother, but Janis looked ragged and run down.
"I'm tired, my head hurts a little, and it's been a long day," she smiled at me. "How are you?"
"I'm great... now that you are here." I winked at her.
Janis' face grew hot with color, exactly what I hoped would happen.
I love when she blushes. It's cute! Then she is all flustered, and she's even more adorable.
We drove to the hotel.
I splurged and got a room right in the middle of everything to see the mountains and the city lights.
I carried her bag up to the room.
"Voila!" I said, unlocking the door and pushing it open for her.
Janis walked in, looking around.
The room wasn't The Ritz but nice enough, with a king-size bed as soft as a cloud. A luxury bathroom with a walk-in shower. A cute little kitchenette with a microwave, refrigerator, a small stove, cupboards holding crystal glasses, and pretty white dishes. The television on the wall was huge and had an excellent stereo system.
