Joslyn's POV
I stood in the hallway listening to the conversation between Dad, Jamey, Uncle Zack, Stephanie, Janis and Wesley.
Somewhat relieved that they were onto Christopher, but good would it do now?
I was always in trouble. I served my time. I had a record, and was on parole. There's no escaping the fact that I was in that hotel room having sex with men out of my mind on coke and booze.
But Christopher, could walk away from this with a clean slate. I don't know about him running Jamey off the road, and who knows if they would be able to prove that, but for the most part he got off.
Christopher looked like shit tonight when he showed up. I can't believe Jamey hit him, and I can't believe he wanted Janis to go with him. Was he going to sell her too? He did think it was me, but still. What was wrong with that guy?
I heard Dad and Uncle Zack heading towards to hall so I ducked into my bedroom. I didn't want to see them. I didn't want to have them ask me question after question and sit there and lie for Chris.
I would, because he was my cousin, but I was still angry at him, and hurt. How could he do that to me? Although, I guess I didn't put up much of a fight.
Maybe Chris should get into trouble too. Maybe he deserves what he gets.
I flopped down on my bed and the room started to spin. I had a nice buzz going. Thank you Uncle Tristan for the bottle of tequila, that was now stashed in my closet behind my shoe rack. I would drink from it when I wanted too.
I dug into my front pocket and pulled out the little bottle of white powder.
Thank you Christopher, I know it was meant for me and I was suppose to go with you but I think I earned it for keeping my mouth shut. I twirled the little gem in between my fingers. I would tuck this away and save it for a rainy day.

Molly's actual birthday was two days after her party.
I was so excited when she woke up, but she was crabby and wanted her cup of milk. I understood that, I need my cup of coffee first think in the morning. Same concept, I guess.
We went into the kitchen and I poured her some milk, while the coffee brewed. I set Molly down in the playpen with the TV on Nick Jr. so she could watch her shows.
Most of them were stupid, and they always counted or sang the ABC's. I rolled my eyes and went to get coffee.
I took my phone and sat down on the couch scrolling through all the social medias.
A half hour later, Molly started to cry. She wanted her breakfast.
I got her and we went the kitchen. I cut up a banana for her and gave her some puff things that would dissolve in her mouth.
"Here you go, big girl!" I said, setting it down in front of her.
Molly looked at me and threw the plate on the floor.
"Molly!" I exclaimed. "You have to eat your breakfast."
I cut up another banana and gave her some more puffs and she threw them on the floor again.
"Look little girl," I started. "You have to eat!"
I cut up the last banana and gave it to her. Molly screamed and threw it on the floor again. Starting to lose my patiences, I took her out of the chair. Molly started to cry.
"You threw your food on the floor and now we have no more bananas," I said.
"Nas!" Molly said.
"We have no more," I told her.
