Janis' POV

"Holy shit! Who the fuck is that?" I asked, grabbing Joslyn's arm.

"Where?" She asked, looking around.

"By the door, with Rocky?"

I couldn't stop staring at him. He was tall and lean with long hair. His face was shaped in a long squared oval, with a pointed chin.

He wore blue jeans that were made to cover his legs. They fit him so well. His smoky blue shirt stretched some logo over his broad chest. He had a guitar case slung over his shoulder.

I knew his eyes were blue.

"I haven't seen him before," Joslyn said, looking over her shoulder.

"Jamey? Who is that?" I demanded.

Jamey's blue eyes shot up, and he looked at Rocky and the guy with him.

"It might be the guy who asked if he could shadow Rocky," Jamey said, looking back down at his phone. "I gotta go."

Jamey stood up.

"Where you heading, little brother?" Joslyn teased.

"Out. I'll see you tomorrow," Jamey said. "Bye, Janis! Let me know how it goes with the mystery man."

I stood up and hugged him.

Joslyn followed my lead.

We watched Jamey walk towards Rocky.

He stopped. Words were exchanged. Jamey shook the guy's hand. They laughed. Jamey's head nodded in my direction, and the guy and Rocky looked over at Joslyn and me.

My knees went weak as our eyes met. I abruptly sat back down.

"Janis, are you okay?" Joslyn asked, sitting down.

I ignored her.

Why was I acting like this?

My knees were shaky, and my hands were sweaty. I'm nervous, I realized.

Why?

"Because he's your soulmate!" A little voice echoed through my head.

I didn't believe in soulmates or love at first sight. Maybe I'm getting sick.

"Janis?"

"Who is he?" I asked again.

Joslyn shook her head.

"I don't know, but let's go find out."

She grabbed her drink and gulped it down.

Taking my hand, she pulled me up to my feet.

I could do this.

I'm a grown woman. I have no problem talking to anyone, let alone men. But with every step closer, my hands grew sweatier, and my heartbeat raced faster. My heart pounded so loud that I thought Joslyn could hear it. I glanced at my sister. Her brown eyes filled with excitement.

She was beautiful! Her brown hair hung in waves around her shoulders. She was wearing skinny jeans and a little light blue tank top. Joslyn looked sexy!

I looked like a bum.

My brown hair was pulled back in a ponytail.

I was wearing my favorite band tee shirt that was too big on me and hung down just past my hips.

My jeans were baggy and comfortable.

Why didn't I pick a better outfit today?

I wasn't even wearing makeup.
