Chapter 64 - Closure

Janis' POV 

It was Jam Night again. Sean and I were going together this time.

I thought about not going, but I still hadn't seen Wesley, and I felt like I needed to do that if I wanted to move on with my life.

I have thought about Wesley daily since Riker called me and told me he was back in town. Seeing him tonight might be the closure I needed to move on.

If I moved on, I could concentrate on Sean.

Sean deserves better than me.

He didn't think so.

He would do anything for me.

The man loved me, and I cared a lot about him, but love?

I wasn't so sure.

"You ready?" He asked, coming into the living room.

"Yes."

I studied Sean standing in front of me in jeans and a fitted tee shirt.

Sean was all muscle.

He lifted weights and did a bunch of other crazy gym things.

Once, I went to the gym with him too, and I couldn't walk for three days.

That was the last of my gym experience.

"You look nice," I said.

"Thanks, and you look super sexy," He said, kissing me.

I put a little extra time and effort into getting ready tonight.

I didn't dress up but wore my best jeans and this little black halter top that flattered my figure.

"Are you sure you want me to go with you?" Sean asked.

"Yes," I exclaimed. "Why would you even ask that?"

Sean laughed.

"I know you need to do this. It might be easier if I'm not there."

I shook my head.

"Nothing is going to happen tonight," I said, more to myself than Sean.

"You're going to see Wesley for the first time in three years," Sean said.

"So?" I said.

Sean shook his head. "Alright, let's go!"

We drove separately to Jam Night.

I needed to go home tonight and spend some time with Cooper.

He'd been at my dad's house since yesterday, and I missed my fur ball.

Sean wasn't allowed to have pets in his apartment.

We always stayed at Sean's place because it was closer to school.

Riker was kind enough to take Cooper when I spent the night at Sean's house.

We got to Ross' and went into the hall.

"Janis! Sean! Want a shot?" Ross greeted us with an arched eyebrow.

"No thanks," I mumbled, not amused.

"I'm kidding," Ross said, hugging me.

He shook Sean's hand.

"What's up, man?"

"Hey, Ross," Sean replied, shaking Ross's hand.

"Hey, Janis," Rocky said, coming over and hugging me.

Jamey was with him.

"Hey," I said to Jamey.

"Hey," He said solemnly.
