Jamey's POV

I sat at the table going through the stack of mail from the last few days. Most of it was junk mail, but it still needed to be gone through. I took a sip of coffee.

"You're up early," Stephanie said, coming out of the bedroom and strolling towards me.

"I couldn't sleep," I said. "So I got up to do something productive."

"Drink coffee is productive?" Stephanie asked kissing my cheek.

I smiled at her.

She touched my chin. "You're very handsome!"

"Where'd that come from?"

Stephanie shrugged. "I've always thought so, thought maybe I'd tell you!"

"Well, you are sweet," I said, taking her hand and pulling her to my lap. I kissed her. "Are you feeling any better today?"

Stephanie nodded. "I think I needed sleep. This wedding might be the death of me!"

My eyebrow shot up.

"I didn't mean it like that, I just meant all the planning. how was Jam Night?"

I snorted. "Interesting to say the least."

"Did Wesley show up?" Stephanie asked.

"Oh yeah, he did," I said.

"And how'd it go with Janis?"

"Janis was three sheets to the wind."

"She got drunk?" Stephanie asked.

I nodded. "All the sudden she grabbed Edy and they went off to the bar. She did four shots in a row and than two more. Poor Sean, had to carry her out last night."

"Oh, poor Janis!" Stephanie said. "Did she see Wesley?"

"If she saw him, I don't think she remembers," I said, shaking my hand. "It was so odd. One minute we are sitting there the next she's knocking them back like... like she was Joslyn," I said. "I think Wesley being back in town is hitting her harder than she'd like to admit."

"I can't imagine," Stephanie said. "Maybe I'll call her later tonight."

I nodded. "She'd like that."

Stephanie stood up. "I'm going to shower. I have some errands to run before I go into work."

Stephanie was a sales associate at a department store. She'd been working there since high school. She loved fashion, almost as much as my Aunt Rydel. I always thought that the two of them would make great partners. Every time I mentioned it to Steph, she shot me down. She said Rydel was too talented to work with her.

I think she is wrong, the two of them would do great together. Maybe I was mentioning it to the wrong person.

"Maybe I'll join you," I said.

"With the errands?" She asked surprised.

"No," I laughed. "In the shower."

"Oh," stephanie laughed.

"I can run your errands with you too."

"Really?" She asked.

"Sure," I said.

"Okay, I'll go get the shower all nice and warm," She said, kissing my cheek.

I watched her walk away. It was one of my favorite views. Shaking my head, I took the stack of mail to set aside for later. A small envelope fell from the pile onto the table.
