Wesley POV

I spent the whole day running around with Rocky and Ross.

On our way back, Ross stopped at the store, and Rocky and I stayed in the car.

"Look, man, I didn't mean to hurt Janis the other night. I was just trying to get her to listen to me, and she wouldn't," I started.

Rocky waved his hand at me. "No worries, man!"

"Are you sure?"

"Yeap," Rocky said, turning to look at me.

"Look, it was a situation. You weren't getting anywhere with Janis. You're lucky I stepped in when I did, and she kicked your ass."

I laughed.

"Seriously, man, I don't know what's going on with you two, but you'll figure it out," Rocky said.

"I hope so," I said.

"You will... I used to watch Jessie look at Riker like Janis looks at you. Riker and Jessie had their share of problems, but in the end, it all worked out," Rocky said.

A few hours later, we were at Riker's house.

Ross wanted to show him the new soundboard he bought, and I had to go with them.

Besides, I didn't have any place to be.

I spent all the cash I saved at the hotel where I stayed.

Ross, Rocky, and Riker stood in the kitchen talking.

I wandered to the patio door and looked out at the backyard.

Cooper came bouncing over to the screen door.

"Hey buddy," I said, opening the door.

Cooper's tail wagged excitedly.

I bent down to pet him, and he raced into the dark backyard.

I laughed.

"Cooper!"

I stepped outside and started walking back towards the patio table.

Cooper bounced towards me.

"There you are," I said.

Cooper wagged his tail and went running off.

I walked after him.

Cooper stopped right next to a chair that Janis sat in it.

"Hey, I didn't know you were here," I said, sitting down.

"Yeah," Janis said quietly.

"I came to get Cooper and played with him a bit before taking him home."

I nodded. "Look about the other night. I'm sorry I was persistent. I should have just let you go."

"No worries," Janis said.

"Did you, um... talk to Sean?" I asked.

"Yeah," she mumbled.

"And did you kiss and make up?"

"We decided to take a break."

"Oh, Janis, I'm sorry."

I meant it.

She nodded.

"Is there anything I can do?" I asked.

"No, I think you did enough," she said.

"How do you feel?" I asked.

"How do I feel?" She asked, looking at me. "I'm pissed, hurt, confused, and want to be left alone."
