Jessie's POV

"Get a room!"

I opened my eyes and looked behind Riker, and there stood Ross and Rocky.

My smile deepened.

"I think they have a room," Rocky commented.

I laughed, typical Ross and Rocky.

"Hey, guys!" I greeted them, letting go of Riker. I squeezed his hand and winked before I went to hug his brothers.

"Hey Jess," Rocky said, hugging me.

"How was the flight?" Ross asked.

I tried not to roll my eyes. "Longer than expected."

"That bad?" Ross asked.

"You have no idea," I mumbled.

Riker came next to me and snaked his arm around my waist, pulling me closer to him. He kissed the side of my head.

"Let's get out of here," he said.

We made our way to the hotel, the guys making small talk. My head pounded. I was hot and tired. I needed to call Zack to see if everything was alright and talk to my kids.

It baffled me that Riker never asked to talk to the kids. It felt like out of sight, out of mind with him. He asked me about them but has yet to ask if he could speak to them.

I couldn't wait to get to the hotel and call home.

Janis wasn't happy that I had left. Joslyn and Jamey could care less. Jamey thought it was cool I was going, and Joslyn was a little mad she couldn't come too.

But Janis was livid, which bothered me.

"How can you just drop everything and go to him?" She asked me in my bedroom as I was getting ready to go.

"Janis, he's my husband," I said.

"Who hasn't been here for three months!"

"He was on tour, you know, making a living to support us," I shot back.

"Right, he was on tour, playing music, drinking, and partying with his brothers. Does he sleep around when he's on tour?"

I glanced away.

"He cheats on you?" Janis exclaimed.

"No. Not that I know of..."

But?"

"But I wonder sometimes. Look, honey, your father and I have been together for a long time. Marriage is challenging. It's a give-and-take deal. You have to compromise sometimes. You have to spend quality time with each other. I haven't had quality time with your dad since..."

"We were born?" Janis finished for me.

I smiled. "No. Your father and I have spent much time together, even after we had you three. We just didn't go away together. You'll see one day."

"I'm never getting married!"Janis declared. "I think you give, and he takes, and it's going to get the best of you, Mom."

"Jess?"

I looked over at Riker.

"Did you hear me?" He asked.

"No, sorry."

"Where are you, babe?"

"I was thinking about the kids," I admitted.

"Aw honey, you got away for a few days. They will live without you, I promise. So try to relax and have some fun," Riker said.
