Janis' POV

"Janis?"

"Huh?"

Someone shook my leg.

Janis?"

"Yeah?"

I rolled over and looked at Wesley standing above me.

His blue eyes were sad and glistened with tears.

"Oh, Wes!" I exclaimed.

Climbing from bed, I wrapped my arms around him and hugged him tightly.

"When?" I asked.

"Sometime during the night," Wesley said.

"Jer is going to take Molly and get donuts while they come to get her."

I nodded.

"What do you want me to do?"

"You can go with them, or you can stay..."

"I'll stay with you," I said, cupping his cheek.

"What can I do?"

"I don't know," Wesley said.

"Why don't you go shower?" I suggested.

Wesley snorted.

"You trying to tell me something, Janis?"

"No, I think a shower would feel good," I said.

"You know what else would feel good?" He asked, wrapping his arms around me and pulling me against him.

"Wes..."

He chuckled and hugged me.

"I'll shower."

"I'll make coffee," I said.

"Jer already beat you to it," Wesley said.

"Where is Molly?"

"She's outside with Jer, "Wesley said.

"Does she know?" I asked.

Wesley nodded.

"The poor kid," I said.

"She's taking it pretty well. She wanted to call her dad," Wesley said.

"Okay," I said.

I left the bedroom and went outside.

"Hi," I said.

"Aunt Nis, Iah is going to take me to get donuts," Molly exclaimed.

"Mmm, donuts," I said.

Molly giggled.

"Will Cooper go with us?" Jeremiah asked.

I nodded.

"He'll stay in the car while you run in."

"Great! You ready, jolly Molly?"

Molly laughed.

"Yes."

Molly raced inside.

"Jer, I'm so sorry," I hugged him.

"Thanks, Janis," he said, hugging me back.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah," he mumbled.

"She's better now."

I nodded.

"My mom passed away when I was eighteen."

"I'm sorry," Jeremiah said.

"Thanks, it was sudden and a surprise. At least you had some time with your mom," I said.
