Jamey's POV

Yawning, I pulled out of Riker's driveway.

Damn, it was early.

I'm not used to being up this early on a Sunday morning, let alone any morning.

I worked last night at the little sushi restaurant that hired me as a busboy. It was nice because they worked around my classes.

I was almost done with college, but I still didn't know what I wanted to do.

College took longer than I'd planned, but that's okay.

It was easy to be a student and go to classes.

Janis had already graduated, Joslyn dropped out when she found out she was pregnant, and I took one class each semester for the last two semesters.

I'd finished.

I'd get a degree in business and pray that it opens some doors for me.

I wanted to know if working in an office from nine to five was what I wanted to do, and I had to start somewhere.

"I really appreciate this, Jamey," Dad said, interrupting my thoughts.

Dad asked me for a ride to Ross' house. They were working on something.

I used to be interested in music, but then my sisters were attacked, and we stopped playing together. I could ask to join Ross, Rocky, and Dad, but I didn't want to play with them. We didn't see eye to eye on music. Our tastes differed big time.

I thought about finding another band. Wesley might be interested.

I knew he was looking for someplace to play, but I didn't think he was interested in a band. Wesley liked to play and sing. He was a solo artist.

"Ross is on to something, and you know how he gets."

I did know how Ross got when he was working on something. He couldn't stop.

He had to master it and make it perfect. No one would rest until it was done and done right.

Dad asked me for a ride because Joslyn needed his car to do something.

So I picked Dad up at eight o'clock in the morning.

We had to stop and get Rocky too.

My uncles were funny. Out of all of the Lynchs, Dad was the only one that settled down.

Rydel was married to Ellington for a long time, but that fizzled out.

Now Ellington was married to someone younger than him, and they had kids left and right.

Ellington used to be in R5.

He was my dad's best friend when they were younger.

I don't think they talked since the divorce.

Dad was pretty pissed at him, which made sense.

Rocky rented an apartment for a while and then moved back into Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Now he just crashed wherever he was at that night.

As far as I knew, he didn't have a girlfriend.

When we were younger, he hung out with us a lot.

My mom was his best friend.

I remember he dated some woman and stopped bringing her around.

Ryland had his own apartment, and he's had several girlfriends throughout the years.
